VAR is ruining the beautiful game

Watching them measure in millimeters if someone was offside or not is just agonizing - regardless of who benefits in that particular game.  It is baffling that there's no common sense.  It's become worse than the "what's a catch in the NFL".

Fully agree.  If bigger player goes against smaller dude... while his body onside but due to size his hand 2 inches offside... it’s offside...  like wtf?  So VAR is smaller people favorite now?

Mentioned this in the other thread, it should be based on foot position and angle. The tech is there to measure that, and it's probably then incontrovertible. For a simple example, 50-60% of the attacking player's foot is past the last defender's foot, it's pretty obvious it's offsides then.

Completely agree.  When I said leg I meant foot.  That whole arm swing is so dumb.

but yeah offside should go by either the tip of the foot or the head, never a swinging hand

I guess my position is that it should pass the "eye" test - with no computerized measuring required.  VAR should only overturn obvious to the naked eye mistakes that the ref didn't catch.
