who are the other coaches with less risk?

I don't know about risk, but there is one kind of unusual thing about him.

He has less pro coaching experience than some of the other candidates, but he's not younger. Bieniemy is actually 50.

If I recall correctly, he's actually the second oldest candidate behind Mike McCarthy (56).

Interesting.  I thought McCarthy had him by a decade or more.

Nope. Just six years.

I think a lot of people believe Matt Rhule is the youngest candidate. He's not. Josh McDaniels is.

Rhule is actually a year older than McDaniels

McDaniels or Bieniemy is my guess---I hope we get this guy and cannot put my finger on the reason

The same reason people vote for the politicians they do

Our mammalian, vestigial hindbrain inability to differentiate between confidence and competence

Great sentence and so true.  With limited access to the truth (as is the case in politics and NFL coaching staffs) we have little evidence to evaluate competence beyond performance.  Since the other coaches performed and were fired, we are left with a choice between someone who has experience and was fired for that experience or someone who has no experience but was never fired.  All we have is our "hindbrain" because we must make decisions through a cloud of self-promotion and propaganda distorting truth. So (to your point) we are left to look for subtle symptoms of competence, and confidence is one of them.

I have had a hard time picking a favorite.  Mainly because I was just so tired of RR I just want someone new.
Bit that was a cool vid.  I like Eric.  Would not be opposed to him.
It seems like we have had 25 years of defensive head coaches. Just having any offensive coach will be welcomed.

I just think this is the coach we need.  Read up on him.  Here is an interview with him.  "A leader of men" Andy Reid calls him.  I was not impressed at all at first--then I did my homework.  Not going to give you all the information, but this gives you some idea of what we would be getting:

Yea, this guy is going to be a great interview if he happens to be our head coach.

Im sold

He just seems to have the "it" factor.  I know that he was respected as a player (heard that from a teammate of his at SD) and he is respected by the KC community.  Andy Reid is a head coach PEZ dispenser, and he is signing EB's praises.  He is intelligent, hard-working, and has a high offensive football IQ.  He expects 100% from his players at all times. I simply like his swag and work ethic.

I have a headache just reading this.  Lol

I want him because, from what I've read, I think he can command respect in our locker room.  His confidence and his support of the players is what I want to see in a coach.  Haven't read this whole thread so I may have missed it, but I'd like to see who he'd want to bring in as staff.  He's intriguing, that's a given.

I think you state my feelings as well.  Others may challenge the reasons because he has no experience as a head coach and he did not call plays.  That really does not bother me because Reid was calling plays before coaching with EB.  I look for his charisma---his swag---his intelligence---his work ethic---he checks all the boxes.  No, I do not know that he will be a good coach no more than his critics know he will fail.
