We need one and this draft has some super interesting ones:

Brycen Hopkins (love, love, love)

Cole Kmet

Other notables:

https://thedraftnetwork.com/prospect-rankings (sort by position)

Hunter Bryant

Thaddeus Moss

Jared Pinkney (another one I'm a big fan of)

Overall, I see at least 5 legit TE prospects in this class, 2 in particular with instant plug and start ability both as blockers and receivers.

Would not be opposed RD2-4.

Wich of these guys would be available early in rd 4? I would love another TE thst could block and receive even with Ian seemingly to be good. I love some 2 TE sets and am tired of Manhertz. I never understood why we didn't deploy Olsen and Ian together as I didn't think their was a giant drop from Manhertz to Ian but maybe that will be a difference with the new coaches.

I absolutely love T. Moss, all these guys would be a good addition. Especially if Olsen is gone. Although don't sleep on the current TE's we have. Thomas and Manhertz are serviceable. I think adding a pass catching TE that can stretch the field would be a great addition.

Unless olsen takes a pay cut I dont see him being here. It's kind of like letting go of TD so Shaq could take over. Everytime Ian has had multiple games as a starter hes began putting up yards, before olsen came back he had a 5 for 56 yd game and in 2018 he had a 9 for 77 game. This will be his 3rd year and in a primary role I could see him putting 700 or so yards up.

The more I think about this, I would prefer to sign a FA TE.  We have so many other key positions needing addressed, that even if Greg is gone, TE is still considerable further down the needs list.

Eifert, Ebron, Henry and Hooper are just some of the guys that are due to be FAs.  Let's face it with CMC as an outlet, the need for a TE security blanket is greatly diminished.   Moreover, we need a blocking TE to keep whomever the QB is upright and to help open lanes for CMC.

Very true I was playing along with OP but in reality you are correct, there are far more pressing needs. We really dont need to spend alot on one either so I'd prefer a older one or someone with high upside that had a down year. Would love a Shockey type without all the crazy.

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
