The point, he would NEVER in a million years sell that stadium at that price....ever, but he wants the county to value it at that amount.  How much is a new stadium to build these days?

Value doesn’t come from what someone would sell something for, it’s what someone else would buy it for. 
 

Would anyone buy a nfl stadium without owning the land or team? If so, would they pay $400 or $87 mil for it. 
 

Honestly, without the team or land the building (as is) is worthless. It would cost tens of millions to tear down or repurpose.

The county values the property at what they think is a fair value, it can go up and down as the economy and real estate market change, but in no world is that stadium only worth 87M.  You have to look at more than what it would be worth to someone who doesn't own a football team, and value it as if someone who does on a football team uses it.

Do you think that Tepper would sell the stadium for 87M when he doesn't have another stadium ready for the team to occupy?

What does having another stadium have to do with a tax assessment?  You think the assessors are supposed to take something like that into account?

They are supposed to give it fair market value, no different than a hospital, or government agency building.

Replacement cost has to come into play there.

If the stadium were destroyed tomorrow, could Tepper build it back to it's current state at 87M?  No, not close.

He is trying to purposefully devalue the stadium to keep from paying his taxes.

The entire point is that it's worth a hell of a lot more to Tepper than 87M, there is no way in hell he would sell it for that, simply no way.

The LA Coliseum is literally a century old.  The old Texas Stadium WAS A DUMP.

THIS SUNDAY’S SUPER BOWL (where Tyreek Hill and Frank Clark will be front and center) is being played in a stadium a decade older than BOA (considered extremely state of the art at the time).

If you are talking resale value its worth scrap. If Tepper builds a new stadium elsewhere there is almost no use for BofA.

Happy....now, right now, before a stadium has been started, which would take 2 years.

He would need to play football at NCSU or Clemson (good luck) or some other nonsense....point is, at this moment, that stadium is worth a hell of a lot more than 87M to David Tepper.

LA is building a $2B stadium.

Buffalo definitely wants a new stadium. So does the Jacksonville owner. And they will get one. So will we.

That's not how tax assessments work. You are ping-ponging between resale value and esoteric worth.
