No he was easily our best lineman and would be better with a better center imo. Center effects guard wich effects tackle. My point was everyone is stuck on LT when it is just as important to upgrade the other positions mainly Center, LG, and honestly a future RG.

That's what I'm saying, you were saying we can Improve in 5 spots I thought we were talking o line. But, yeah, brown won't make it to us, unfortunately.we either will go Simmons or OL at 7 if we stay there imo. I'm not sold on little, doesn't sound like our team is either per Rodrigue. We shall see tho.

I'm not sure Brown gets past Gettleman. He's taking a hog mollie - it'll either be an OT or Brown.

I am definitely worried about that because I feel pre combine Brown is the only DT that can fix our run stopping problems while getting to the QB, pure stud. If not though we need to go BPA and get the decade player, like I've said we've had a top 10 pick what 3 times in 10 plus years. If brown goes we need that other DT people have been talking about in a later round, I believe Leki? Hes a pure run stopper that would probably be pulled on passing downs from what I understand but this is all pre combine.

Leki Fotu is that guy. I think he'll probably go in the 2nd or 3rd simply because he is a pure run stuffer. I honestly think he might be there with our 3rd.

Kinlaw is the only other DT who could be a potential at #7. He isn't as well rounded as Brown right now, but honestly he might have a higher ceiling.

I was talking oline, I just wasn't being literal. If Brown doesnt make it I just want the BPA game changer, once in a decade guy. Look at our other top 10 picks and that's what I want lol, dont care about the position.

As long as he can take double teams lol. I dont mind him being raw with a high ceiling as long as hes a beast, we have the coaches for him now I think.

And who will block .?

I get your thinking, Mister, but the first round is not the only place to find players.  Free agency, round 2-3-4...

It is hard when you have so many needs (before free agency) and you have 1 pick to make count.

1. LT:  Little had a black cat in his path last year.  A lot can happen between years 1 and 2.  He was nearly a first rounder---if anyone answered Marty's calls---so let's say year 2 will be great for Little and not assume the worst.   OR

Dennis Daley was not as bad as some of you think.  To compare him to other rookies is fair.  he held his own.  He is a late bloomer, and I think Marty thinks he or Little will win the LT job.  Daley started 9 games at LT with no help at LG when Williams was there.  Take this fwiw:  https://www.panthers.com/video/dennis-daley-ranked-among-pff-s-top-5-rookies

LG:  Daley or Little.  Whoever loses the LT job.  I see Daley with the best skill set for LG, (Little would be better at RG, maybe).  Do not discount the experience he got last year.  Speed rushers with no run responsibility--being targeted by defensive coordinators, etc.  Year 2 will be better.

C. Paradis.  Yes, we need to draft a C, but Paradis' injury caused him to lose strength--at least that is a theory in the Charlotte Observer in Nov:  " it may take more time before Paradis’ leg is back to full strength."  Healing is one thing, but a broken leg with the ankle problems that follow cause the leg to atrophy.  You are not injured--you are just weak.  Paradis got a nose and was bull rushed a lot when teams smelled blood.   I think he will improve.

RG:  Trai Turner is a beast--an overrated beast.  Yet he gets the job done--above average.

RT: Moton is getting better.  He allowed 5 sacks this season in 1100+ snaps-some 700 were pass plays--many of those vs. DEs OLBs not worried about the run.

If Marty believes in Little and if Daley can take the LG job---will he draft OL early?  Lotta ifs, but it is possible 3 OL positions get better using the 2019 roster.

Yes, I know we need some help---but is it as bad as it seems?

    • Sorry man you lost me at "Teppers have evolved as owners". Limped into playoffs at 8-9 not even above .500 Tepper is trash as an owner bro and that's not even a discussion at this point. 37-83 w/l ratio. Nuff said.... Morgan tho, he's cooking and it ain't cuz of Teppers leadership
    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
    • Canes are so fascinating. Despite inconsistent defense and poor goalie play they keep winning.
