5 Wide Sets

(ATL'ien)CamNewton

I think we're going to be seeing a lot of it. Nickel and Dime the hell right out of the opposing D all the way down the field.

Imagine Cam in a 5 Wide Set with Moore, Samuel, Jeudy, Thomas, McCaffrey .. oh my

This is Cam's team. Recognize. Cam Newton is the most important person in the building. Believe that.

Cam Newton is special, have we forgotten? Cam's worst season in this offense is going to be as good as his MVP 2015 stats. I regularly expect 40 TD passing seasons from Cam now.

We want to win with offense, not defense. Finally.

Seriously...Mods...clean this poo up.

You didn’t have to open it. While I agree it’s an incredibly stupid opinion, at least the OP is trying to contribute. The 5 wide set is not something I would want to see a whole lot of. It’s college garbage.

No one forces you to click on any thread, no matter how horrible it is or how annoying the thread creator is.

I mean, the quality of content on this board is in your hands. Soap is not a bad option from time to time.

The 5 wide set was a mirage of a title to loop us all into another worship fest for the lord and savior Sir Cameron J Newton. That’s my point.

How about show us what a quality thread looks like by starting one yourself instead of bitching about what someone else does.

Quality also depends on members creating good discussion. How about trying to start one yourself if you think it's a problem.

"Quality" is completely objective. If you disagree with the opinion, state your own. Hell, plenty of takes that were popular and seemed reasonable at the time proved to be pretty damn idiotic in the long-run.

I never agreed with it, but early in the season when Little and Daley looked promising, it was a fairly prevalent opinion on the board that we should shop Moton. Think about how utterly fuged our OL would be right now if we'd traded Moton.

Yeah, let's make it a staple of offense to leave Cam hung out to dry behind a bad OL in five wide sets.

Yeah but in a 5 wide with 5 legit weapons like we would be fielding .. Cam wouldnt have to stand back there for 10 years and wait for somebody to pop open. Surely one of the 5 would be schemed to get open in two seconds and other routes are deep, intermediate .. lots of options for Cam.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
