Might depend on Khan's contract status. Could also be the Steelers are more willing to part with Khan because they have Brandon Hunt lined up as Colbert's successor.

I'd rather have Hunt honestly, but I think he might be tougher to pry away from the Steelers than Khan.

Khan has already been linked to GM positions so I would not expect him to have an interest with Colbert on a one year contract without a quick timeline promise.  While diversity will be a deserved consideration, I would like to see a former Panther player come back. He has worked his way up through scouting with the Seahawks and is now Director of Player Personnel with the Bills.  This career paths next promotion is to Asst GM. I prefer a player background for this position and hope cronyism continues with Dan Morgan.  Hurney was here when he was drafted in 2001, although not named GM until the next year. My guess is that this hire would be very popular both within the building and among fans.
