I didn't say a LT didn't need core strength, but a DT uses core strength more. It's the nature of the position.

And you're wrong.. A DT spends more time attacking (going forward) or trying to penetrate... You use more of your core strength on KEEPING YOUR BLANCE IN UNNATURAL POSITION.. Getting pushed backwards and keeping your blance is a unnatural position... You use your core strength more in blocking and holding back force then being the force and going forward...

You can't attack and go forward without using your core lol. What are you talking about? But when you are out in space you might not even make a proper block, so you're core gets a break by it being used less of whiffs. Not so for a DT in the trench, he will have to use his core each snap. I don't want to spell this out anymore. We disagree and god save us if we don't fix the o-line.

My point still stands. Late <> 3rd round. It sounds like we will be drafting against the strength of the draft. Brown or Okudah at 7 is defense and still value. Drafting D in the 2nd/3rd is likely not great value and while the WRs are really deep, a guy drafted late is likely not having the impact that the day 2 WRs could have.

I agree with the working with the strength of the draft theories and method.. But the strength in this draft is also on the depth portion.. Meaning  Talented players at WR and OT will get pushed to later rounds... It depends how the Draft goes and when the runs on certain position happens.. With alot of the WR and Ot getting drafting you might get a Good LB in the 2nd who might have been a 1st rounder.. And still get a good WR because there are so many in this draft...

I will immediately lower my expectations if I see the Panthers ignore LT in the draft. We're sunk if that happens. If we fix the o-line I think we might have a decent season.

You need to do that now.. Or be prepared to be disappointed... I don't know where you've been but we are literally not in position to be a good team this year.. No matter what we do this offseason... There will be some growing pains...

I literally don't know where you're getting this from.. But it's completely wrong.. I really don't have the time nor want to explain physics to you but you're completely wrong and you need to stop saying this stuff..

I check Panthers news daily. I know about our roster. I think if we repair the o-line in the draft, and pick up some FA defensive players we should have a halfway decent season, assuming Cam is healthy. I'm not expecting the playoffs, but I think with the right moves we can be 8-8ish. If we don't address the o-line then we could be looking at 0-16 - 3-13ish imo.

DT, DE, WR, ILB---I am telling y'all, we might replace depth at T (Williams) but they are going to let Daley, Little develop,  We may grab our future center later.

This is sorta what Jordan was saying..  There will be more a focus on the defense in this offseason and they aren't giving up on Little and Daley...

I wouldn't  and won't expect anything no matter what we do this offseason.. Changing coaches, changing philosophy, changing scheme, changing the roster usually equals  losing and growing pains...

You have this idea that you're only using your core if you're upright blocking (as though DTs don't get double teamed and otherwise end up upright) and you make it worse by thinking that a DT isn't using his score attacking leaning forward. Of course his core is engaged even leaning forward. Hell you need your core to stand up.

I'm literally not discussing this with you anymore.... Believe what you want to believe. You are completely wrong .. Going, pushing forward is a natural position (you knees bend forward!!!) ... So you use less core strength doing natural position.. Going backwards, keeping blance while getting pushed, reacting to forward motion and force (instead of being the forward motion and force) is unnatural position.. You use "more" core strength keeping blance in unnatural position..

That's it..

With the buzz about Moore being a #2 and Samuel a slot (and I agree), we could grab a WR early.  Round 2 maybe?

Good thread--people have been assuming OL, but I have been saying Marty is not going to cover up his draft picks from 2019.  We need 3 DTs, a DE, ILB, CB, and S.  We might see a WR and C/G, but that is about it.
