Person said Kestenbaum was a real threat to buy the team and move it to Canada --- he don't know jack sh*t.

NFW the scenario you describe took place.

All you have to do is go back and watch interviews and you can tell that Hurney made the hiring decision for Rhule. I've said this for months and even before it happened that Hurney was making the decisions on the team.

Rhule was his hire and so will the assistant gm be his hire, main reason is that from all the reports from close to the team say that Tepper highly respects Hurney and his decisions.

Like it or not, he's likely here for a while.

Oh I'm fully on board with the fact (and it's not in doubt) that Hurndog is ticketed round-trip and on the bus that has pulled out of the station with Cowboy Tepp at the wheel...

...and frankly, I'm all good with it.

That said, anyone who thinks Hurndog is handing out 7-year, $60MM++ deals to coaches is kidding themselves....LOL!

Nope. I'll just give you common sense instead.  Hurney has been OFF the last 6 7 8 ...FOREVER lol. Now that Matt Rhule and Joe Brady are here, he magically has GM skills? No, what you're seeing is Rhule and Brady making the calls. Also ,that assistant that Tepper hired to "help" Hurney aka, the guy whose calling the shots along with Rhule and Brady.

Hurney is just a mascot at this point.

So if the picks dont work out you gonna blame rhule and brady?

I followed the team sale process pretty closely and I never heard Person say this. Not likely he would have anyway for two reasons:

1) Kestenbaum said (as reported by Rick Rothaker) in one of his first interviews on the topic that the team belonged in Charlotte.

2) Kestenbaum doesn't live in Canada. He's from there but he lives in Florida.

You are 100% correct.  A bit of a smokescreen there...

Kestenbaum is a good jewish boy from Brooklyn who made good and maintains residences in FLA and NY.  There was never any chance the team would move to Canada, or anywhere else for that matter --- and this remains the case.

Kestenbaum wasn't a legit candidate and was just wasting everyone's time, nor is a he billionaire as Person put into print.  Local press was laughable covering the story...like dogs chasing a squirrel, never caught up.

Interesting note, Kestenbaum is now a minority partner in the Falcons.

Yes. Because these men have talent all that's left to do is coach. But I'm not worried, RonRivera and Norv aren't here anymore.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
