All in all, my illness would be categorized as fairly mild. I had run of the mill bad cold symptoms (the only odd thing was there were no head cold symptoms, just throat/chest and some serious we'll call it "lower GI explosiveness" for 2-3 days) for a week or so and then that damn dry cough that just wouldn't quit for weeks afterwards but otherwise felt fine during that time.

I never thought there would be a season to start with. But how does this effect next years NFL draft? Do we all pick in the same spot as the last draft, or is there a lottery?

If there is a lottery, one of three teams will end up with the first pick.  Dallas, New England, or New Orleans.  That is just the way life works out.

Why do people think there will be a draft if there will be no college football?

There will 100% be a draft if no CFB. NCAA will probably grant an extra year of eligibility and look at scholarship allotments and players who would have qualified for draft after season will he permitted to go pro.

what will be interesting to see is how they will decide the selections.

I honestly don’t think there is going to be college FB this year.

Why do you think there wouldn't be?

Its not like Trevor Lawrence will stick around for another year in college.

Yeah, what will he interesting to see is if guys start withdrawing from school early like Nick Bosa did. No point of sticking around in school if you are a top prospect. You can take online courses and train professionally.

Yes, the elite players will be able to hop on an NFL team no questions asked. I just can't fathom teams going seven rounds, going off of last year's NCAA results. Guys will have been out a LONG time. Juniors who would've started this season now have to go on what they've done to date. Just seems weird to me. I think if there is no season it will simply roll over a year for schools. No draft until 2022. Sounds crazy.

Of course, they could play games with no fans. But seeing as how half the Clemson team for example has COVID, I don't see it happening.

I have no doubt that they will go 7 rounds based on last year's results.  The last three rounds of the draft are pretty much just  "maybe we will get lucky" anyway, so I doubt it will make much of a difference in the long run.

    • Comparing a random stat to another rookie QB has nothing to do with the current subject.  Tom Brady had a 6.0 YPA his rookie year.  I hope you're not using one stat to define success of a QB? It's not a problem to want him to do better based on where he was drafted although I still contend it doesn't matter after the fact.  It doesn't matter if we're talking about Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Russel Wilson or any other QB.  It makes little difference once you're in the NFL.  Nobody gets a ring for where they were drafted.   Higher draft picks will get a little more time in most cases as teams want to make sure they've exhausted all avenues before they admit a draft pick can't play.  Other teams might pick them up thinking it wasn't the player but the organization and/or other coaches that caused the player not to succeed.  It's people's expectations that are wrong.  If we could go back and redo all the draft and put guys in the correct draft spot based on how well they played in the NFL, that would be nice.  Then your argument would make some sense.  People assume that where a player was drafted is a statement on how good that player is when the reality is there is a lot more luck than skill in drafting. If Coker turns into a pro bowl receiver and XL becomes a bust nobody cares except fans and the media. What we really should say is it's not too much to expect a player who has started at QB for a team over the last 2 years to be better than he currently shows.   Don't compare 1st round picks.  Compare starting QB's in the NFL.
    • They’re gonna have to go up against a real offense before any kind of judgement can be made of them.  Tlaw looks like damaged goods, Kyler is completely washed, and Penix….well…. they look better compared to last season but that’s what you’d expect with a healthy brown and horn.  I haven’t seen anything that indicates they’ll be considered an overall good defense when the dust has settled. 2002 it is not.
