Jonathan Stewart Outside Run

About as useless a play call as a three step drop for Delhomme, a fly route for Muhammad, a pass over the middle to D Williams, etc

Boy he sucked today and I don't know why they kept making him go outside when he clearly wasn't fast enough to get to the corner. W

It's hard to run through the middle with Stewart when they have 9 people coming against 6 blockers.....Taking it to the outside can give the runner a better chance of yardage based on the blocks he can get from the TE's and WR's. Yes he's not THAT fast...but a couple stiff arm's and he's there...We really didn't have much to work with..So we had to pull SOMETHING out of our asses..

Yeah because Ronde Barber noes nothing about his stiff arm. It wasn't Stewart's day - nuff said.

stewart wasn't very good last week either, i like him and i'd stick with him, but if he's not making plays after 6 or so carries, why not switch it up and use dwill more often

double trouble is looking more like a 1 man team the past two weeks

also stewart has been banged up since probably he was in peewee football, if he's not 100%, sutton looked good and there is also that goodson guy

have to agree.. I don't remember feeling in the past that he didn't have speed. Matter of fact, I've seen him fly. I've always thought he had similar speed to DWill... but I didn't see it today.

Stewart didn't have a good day, but it's pretty hard to run the ball with crappy blocking. The line did good in the first half, but the Saints d-line ate us up in the second half. I've said it before... another case of the other team being better at half-time adjustments than the Panthers are.

 except for the fumble by deangelo williams he was the best runner on our team..he will always be the best runner on our team even with crappy blocking...stewart was just tripping over people!!

I thought both runners looked slow much of the time, other than when D-Will broke a big one on the second play of the game. There he looked really really fast.

It seemed to me to be a product of trying to hard to make something happen because other than those two we have virtually no reliable offense.

Stewart had a rough day..it happens. He had a good week the week prior against AZ. He averaged over 5 yards a carry for 87 and 2 TDs. Not sure why you think he didn't look good then.

    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
    • There's plenty of other things to discuss. This is the most talented roster we've had in a long time.
