The coaches called the gameplan that gave us the best chance to win. The reality is Jake is done. John Fox and Davidson's job now is to save Jake Delhomme from himself. They did that today and gave us a shot to win against the best team in football right now. I have no qualms with the leash on Delhomme. He's earned it with this play in 09. In the offseason we decided to roadblock every avenue we could at upgrading the QB position. And instead chose to profess our love to #17 with a big raise and long term commitment. We have to live with that decision family.

There is something wrong with running the ball on 3rd and 8 or 9 when you have 2 TE's and 2 capable Wr's and even a Rb out of the backfield. I agree Jake hasn't been anywhere near great but today he was not a problem. And the 3 games that we were close in the final minutes the Atl game comes to mind when Jake started out good and got in a rhythm he was all any team could ask for it isn't like we have a crop of proven receivers except Smith.

I do agree if u have a Qb use him and we might as well take direct snaps if our qb will not have a chance to throw it. Yeah Jake has struggled no denying that but he also is capable of winning games when he is mistake free and how many qb's don't throw int's?

All of them do, it is just that Jake had a bad stretch and I think he is ready to go. So at least give him a shot. I see the being up 17-3 as more reason to put your foot on the gas not to stop playing all together which we did. And after that Williams fumble how long did it take us to get down field with that horrible Qb?

2nd best post of the night

I guess Davidson is damned if he does, damned if he don't right? If he gave Jake yet another shot, Jake would fail and you all would be down his throat. Today he fed Double Trouble and you're still down his throat. There was nothing at all wrong with the play calling. Wanting Jake to have another Philly game 'cause Fox/Davidson wanted to give him yet another chance rather than running the ball which we're bulit to do, is just asinine. Cause we all know there would've been at least 2 or 3 picks if that happened. And did you see what happened after we threw it past 10 yards? The balls were over thrown.

Yes I agree sticking with a QB who you know can't trust week after week is stupid. Fox may say Jake gives us our best chance to win, but he knows Double Trouble really does. Fox has alot invested in Jake. They gave him the new contract. They made their own bed. Fox is going to stick with him no matter what. His head is too far up his own ass do make a change.

Jake screwed up enough on his own today. I like the lovefest he gets when he doesn't turn the ball over 5 times in a game. Did you guys miss all of the high, overthrown passes? Or the botched hand-off that forced us to kick a field goal rather than take a commanding 24-13 lead? When your QB is as inept as Jake is right now, you can't afford to throw the ball more than 15 times.

Even in the loss though, one thing I really liked was the passion and the fire the guys played with. The defense has really come together and looked really impressive at times against the offensive powerhouse that is the Saints. Also, DeAngelo is simply amazing, the guy is an absolute work horse and I hate that he lost that fumble on the goal line, rough way to end it.

Im not saying Davidson shouldnt run the ball most of the time but you are honestly trying to tell me that nevermind the 5 bad games Jake had but today that he was playing bad and he's the reason for our troubles. Sorry I agree that Jake is horrible at times but if WILLIAMS I repeat WILLIAMS hadn't fumbled a perfect handoff we may have been able to drive down the field believe it or not with Jake throwing passes to try and win the game.

Outside of the Jets, who allowed the Saints 10 offensive points, the Panthers held them to the least offensive points of the season. Some blown coverages sure, but a damn good job none the less.

I ask myself why they don't do a "hurry up" style for Jake mid-game not only when they need to.

When they moved the ball down the field as they did at the end there, I just shook my head. I know Jake isn't what he used to be, but he's "Our Quarterback" and thus, he should be given the chance to play. Especially at this point in the season. They can't play that way and expect good things to happen unless they were up by 28, then MAYBE.

Why are people upset over Davidson not letting Delhomme throw it more? Is 13 interceptions not enough for you? Davidson called a great game. Its what we have to do since we can no longer trust Jake.

Davidson called a horrible game. He did good at times, and most of that was when he let Delhomme throw the ball. I think this contradicts you're statement. On those same drives, he killed the drives by turning back to the run more than needed.

3 straight runs will not be successful. THe smoke route on key downs, is not effective. It's late, but there were other examples where Davidson fuged up drives.

again, the most successful drives we had was when he let Delhomme throw the ball. Then he stopped and we had to resort to FGs..

HORRIBLE play calling.
