Dane Brugler's First Mock Draft is...surprising

Though the more I watch the NDSU v CA game, the more I become concerned about Lance. His release is longer (his elbow dips down by his waist a lot) than you would like and it shows up consistently in that game. His positive tape is just so great though.

Personally I think there is a very good chance Burrow, Fields, and Wilson all go top-5, and I think there is a very good chance we are drafting in that 6-10 range, so I think Lance is our most realistic option at this point, so another question about him.

I read somewhere that his short range accuracy isn't the best, is that a concern for you or something you have seen in your film study?  I think accuracy (not to be confused with completion percentage) is extremely important and one reason some QBs struggle making the jump and one reason Burrow was doing so well this year.

Is it something that can be improved with coaching? Short range accuracy is probably very important in our offense.

Who would be the right coach? They’ve just been a crap fest for so long and don’t seem to make good hires so maybe the problem is above the coach/GM. Would you trust that they hire the right leadership?

I also regret all spending this off-season. We could have been one of the huge cap teams and made it easy to extend our own and have room for blockbuster FAs in a year or two. We’ve wasted almost $100M in cap space to rollover/extend. Just this past off-season.

The right coach is whoever Trevor likes.  You can get his input beforehand, you could even talk to Dabo to see who he respects and hope he influences Trevor.  Either way you can find out what Trevor is thinking.

Even if he doesn't work out you can fire the coach later.

Lads I'm going to help you out because that's two of you now that have used the awful phrase 'hot take' incorrectly:

"a piece of commentary, typically produced quickly in response to a recent event, whose primary purpose is to attract attention."

Seems to fit. You threw together your quick response of Lawrence has studs around him (even though he’s the highest rated HS prospect Clemson has and his best WR is a late round prospect) and he isn’t asked to make tough throws (clearly haven’t really watched him aside from crushing your team) to this recent event of Dane Brugler’s mock draft. All the discussion was about Fields to us and you had to throw in your comment about Lawrence to elicit a reaction. Seems to fit pretty darn well.
