Oh come on Washington has at minimum 3 defensive players who will be drafted this year and their top CB is a borderline first round guy

And absolute poo on offense. Pac-12 had it's best chance in years to get in last year, and said no OU. You guys be the sacrificial lamb, we'll lose to fuging Oregon.

this is the craziest thing I've ever seen.  Come all the way across the country in 3 days with no prep time and play a ranked team on the road.

Hats off to BYU.  ESPN College Gameday will be there, so they get a chance to make a push (they won't win) for a playoff spot.

They’d probably go play the NY Jets on one day notice.    As you alluded to, I think it is Hail Mary attempt at the college playoffs which they got virtually no shot at going to.  Which is kinda nuts that even in a COVID season a team like them can’t get in.

To be fair, Cincy is 7th. That's the highest a G5 team has ever been. And with A&M playing Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee left on the schedule I could see them losing at least one of those games. Florida will lose to Bama. Ohio State could be out regardless, not playing in the Big Ten Title game. Cincy would just have to beat shitty Tulsa twice.

College playoff will put Ohio St in without them playing in the Big10 championship.

they are putting the 4 best teams in and already alluded to the fact they won’t care this year about the conference title like other seasons

That would piss off a lot of Mfers dude. No way that will happen. It already looks moronic.

Ohio St is one of the 4 best teams in the country.  Fair or unfair.  CFP is going to put them in no matter what happens.

and as long as the SEC gets their 2 teams....I don't see people moaning that hard.   SEC probably will argue they should get 3 spots lol.

Utterly off-topic, but my son goes to Coastal Carolina, and has never gone to a game. He would rather watch Twitch streams of video games on his phone....

I get playing video games.  But the whole watching other people play thing boggles my mind

No they're not one of the 4 best teams in the country. They struggled vs Indiana, and their secondary is ranked in the 100's FFS. They won't be able to, if they're legit 5-0 tops heading into this. Sorry, just wouldn't make sense. Their schedule is putrid, and they won't have enough data points for it to make sense vs another team. ACC is getting two in with Clemson and ND, so you're also wrong there. LOL. SEC is just getting in Bama. The last spot is up for grabs.

Clemson ain't getting in if they lose to ND twice.   Not happening.

ND has a shot if they lose but only if it is a super close game.

I'm not saying it is right or wrong, Indiana winning the Big 10 or whatever isn't going to jump Ohio St in the CFP ranking though.  Ain't about fair or right.  CFP has made it clear already with Ohio St.  And in a messed up down year they putting to big dawgs in the CFP unless the team forces them not to.  They ain't dropping Ohio ST because of COVID.

ND isn't beating Clemson. LOL. So, that point in null invoid.

They made it clear, but they've also stated how if Ohio State doesn't play more games they're out. The CFP lead said they were already having that discussion this week. They will if Ohio State doesn't play games, they've already came out and said it.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
