xBox banned wave hitting...

I was actually thinking of flashing my disc drive a few weeks ago before the bans started but have decided against it. I will just get my gamefly account backup and running and steal games the legal way by renting them.

The bans aren't really coming from those that have modified there games to cheat but are coming from people that put new firmware onto the disc drive of the 360 to play ripped or backup games. I personally understand not wanting people to rip off your games but i just can't understand why the video game industry lets Gamestop get away with what they do.

If you're dumb enough to flash your xbox and go online with it then you deserve to have your account banned.

Pretty much the truth.

I modded an original XBox years ago but didn't use Live with it. Put a monster HD in there and ripped games.

Then 360 came out and I realized how amazing the XBL service is. I've thrown a ton of money at Microsoft but it's been well worth it. Netflix just adds to it's amazingness

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
