Adam Schefter: Growing sense, DeShaun is done as a Texan. #itshappening

I’d argue Jets and Dolphins are less likely to do this. Why pay big money and give up assets for a QB when you’re in position to draft one on a rookie deal? That would be a waste for both of them. Saleh is a new HC there who will be building his program. Dolphins can be sellers by either trading Tua or keeping him— either way- so why buy?

Panthers can trade Teddy and a haul of picks to Houston. We should be pushing as hard as we can for this.

teddy has negative value but houston is a very poorly run franchise and it’s difficult to predict what they might do. would it be all that surprising if they stupidly overvalued teddy similar to how our team overvalued him? i don’t think so. do i hear teddy plus 3 firsts? hell some folks are ready to trade 2 firsts and a second for the byu quarterback.

really though i could see houston try to ride it out and dare him to hold out. something tells me that organization isn’t going to be very receptive to the demands of the young black quarterback.

Lol at Teddy being trade bait!  The Texans may as well negotiate for Sir Purr in that package as well.

Teddy isn't the main attraction here, he's just an add-on because they won't have a QB after and he's a capable starter. Also might help us with salary cap fitting Watson in. We'd be giving up a bunch of picks for the real value.

Some folks on a message board. That has no bearing and means nothing in regards to trade values because that's just plain absurd yo think anyone will give two firsts and a second for Zach Wilson

Draft picks are gonna be the name of the game there. If they trade Watson, they will be tearing it all down to the studs. Wouldn't be surprised to see them move other big names after trading Watson. There would be no point in keeping anyone and they will have a new GM and coach anyway-- their image is in the trash. They need a full reset.

Teddy is not the main thing, just a guy who wants to start and is capable of doing so but not being great. It might help us cap-wise too, idk.

We trade a ton of picks to Houston that's the main point.

If he's a capable starter than we aren't trading him and our future away to replace him during a rebuild.

When we have no offensive line to protect the guy ;)

All joking aside, this is what I really take issue with.  We are in a quasi-rebuild currently, so mortgaging the future and shifting direction like this makes no sense.  This isn't the NBA where acquiring one superstar takes you from the outhouse to the penthouse.  Nothing against Watson, but I'll take a hard pass.

It's obvious we're looking at QBs. He's capable as in won't embarrass you off the field. But we aren't winning a Super Bowl with him. He can help bring some good image and leadership to a ruined team like us last year and the Texans going forward.

that’s the cost of trading into the top 3

oh wait i get it now. you’re still a believer in teddy two yards. guess what? the offensive line wasn’t teddy’s problem. he just sucks ass.

I think Rhule would disagree about where we're at in terms of a rebuild. I think he's legit expecting playoffs next year and I don't blame him. The defense has solid pieces on all levels who are young and have grown together. Add a couple more guys and we can compete with anyone there.

Offense has playmakers but we have to build the O-line. We invest in O-line in FA and the draft.

An elite QB like Watson would make up for some of the O-line's shortcomings while we build it up and immediately gives us a chance to win any game just with his abilities.

You're never just one guy away, but a young elite QB puts you on the fast track.

    • Definitely won't see that in the 2025 QB draft.  I figured Nix would probably drop to round two, but when the Falcons nabbed Penix, Denver got REAL anxious.
