JStew for a Good Young QB? Hells to the Yes.

Why do you think the owners opted out of the salary cap?

The answer to this question will lead you to what's going to happen.

The players will eventually strike.

If they strike it will be the stupidest move the players have ever made. First of all in strike situations even if you get considerations down the road, you never make up for what you lose in a strike especially when the average career for a plyer is 3 years.

Secondly I wouldn't be surprised if Congress gets involved and forces talks given that the NFL is a monopoly and are subject to antitrust laws.

Thirdly, look how long it has taken for baseball to recover from the last strike. The same with Hockey which still hasn't recovered. I would think that Football would learn from other leagues and not kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

BTW, the same would apply if the owners lock out the players.

No I would not make that trade. We have what no else does at the RB position and I am not going to give that up. The running game we have now is the best offensive weapon this franchise has ever had. We will most likely not be able to keep both Deangelo and Johnathan forever but dammit I want them here as long as possible.

Would I trade Stewart for a young quarterback? Depends on who. A backup for most teams like Volek, or Quinn? Probably not.

Would I trade him for most quarterback starters like Schaub or Ryan, of course. Problem is the only guys we would likely get in a trade are those which are not desired by other teams or who have done nothing. In that case why trade for that when we can draft a rookie without losing a pick.

Volek plays well, and like Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees has benefited from Norv Turner.

Him along with 2nd would be a fairly good trade. Especially if we are planning on locking up D Will long term.

Many QB's that had couple of years under Norv have done very well, I doubt he is an exception.

He is the only one that is capable, with a great starter in front of him, on a team in dire need of a RB, that I can think of.

I think double trouble has to much upside in the right system. If we ditch Peppers we can get a decent qb in addition to somebody to replace him. No trade...unless we can get rivers...

If williams goes down we'd be in the same position as in 2005 if Jstew wasnt around. If we had anything that remotely looked like a passing game those two boys would be ripping chunks of yards.... they'r doing a good job now with a box thats stacked 85% of the time....

You're stupid as f**k dude, we won't have enough money to keep two pro-bowl running backs in a few years anyways.

Thanks for your wonderful input. :seeya:

I'm sure the Panthers can find a way to keep both of them

And I am right about the chemistry between the two. You can see it on the field when one is struggling and the other starts to get hot, it gets the other going. They don't have big ego's and actually enjoy the 2 back system. That is hard to find that type of player in the nfl. Because most top players in the league have that DIVA attitude. We are lucky our 2 RB's don't suffer from this

I disagree -- Sunday Williams was ripping it up. Every time Stewart came in it was less than stellar, hell even average.

I am not saying Stewart cant do it, cause HE CAN. But Williams does just fine by himself.

The only problem I see is that Goodson might not have 3 down back range if Williams was to go down.

Right now we have one hell of a backup plan, something the Fox has not done well with in the past.

This may be true for Sunday. But I have seen it more times than once where one RB seemed to not be able to get going and the other has been a catalyst. On Sunday DWill came out swinging and Stew came in a pounded out the tough yards.

I see have seen Dwill come out and just get stopped over and over, then Stew would come in knock out some big gains and it looked as if Dwill gets fired up seeing his buddy do well, so he gets more fired up. Kinda like anything you can do, I can do better. Thats what i've seen ever since Stew came aboard

You cannot trade Peppers. He would have to sign his FT again this offseason early enough for us to trade him. He won't like last offseason and we'll be on the hook for 20 million dollars. Peppers must walk.

i disagree.

i think peppers likes what meeks is doing and wanted to get away from turdovac. i think after what we have seen with the improvements of the defense, he will sign a long term deal for less than his current FT numbers and finish his career here.

stewart is our only shot at a #1 next season.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
