They do exist.

(or at least trolls pretending to be them do)

Point being though that we've repeatedly shot down completion percentage as a valid measure when it was used to support the notion that Bridgewater was a good quarterback. Using it as a standard now is antithetical to that.

IMO it's fine to cite as a secondary/tertiary differentiator (though still better qualified with stats like intended air yards) in a discussion of QBs who have more to offer than just completion percentage - they actually throw/threw downfield, lead their teams on scoring drives in the clutch, etc. When it's the only thing supporting a thesis of QB success, however, it's inadequate.

I'm guessing you missed the sarcasm here 🤔

There isn't a sarcasm font.

Dan Marino was a 59.4% thrower.

The game has changed - you can't compare stats over the ages.

The point being that the narrative of Cam being an inaccurate passer and those guys being more dependable just isn't accurate. Neither historically nor statistically.

As I said, I don't necessarily have a problem with someone just liking Jake or Steve more, but don't throw out false statements to support that view.

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
