Smitty Love/Hate aside I think it's interesting you have 2 wide receiver sound bites this week that are less than flattering to the Panthers organization.

So fans should expect a losing year every other year? When you hold your fanbase hostage with mandatory PSL dues no matter how shitty the product you give them, you're ripping them off. The Panthers rip off their fans every other year and use communist-like tactics to control media coverage & spin of said shitty product. The organization puts more energy and focus into the conformity of players than it does pursuing wins. If Fox worked for free, yeah the fans would be the bad guys. But he doesnt, he gets paid millions every year to do a job, if he cant do it effectively, the fans have every right to want him out of here.

Just because you win doesnt mean everything is excused. I was more pleased with this team in their loss to the Saints than in their win over Tampa. And Smitty's earned the right to say whatever he wants. I want Steve Smith in my locker room. A guy that plays with an edge and wants to win at all costs. I tell you who I wouldnt want in my locker room, Jake Delhomme, a guy whos been given the green light by the organization to suck and suck hard. I wouldnt want Jon Kasay at this point either. Having 3 kickers on staff JUST to keep him around is too much babying and coddling.

it is hard for me to judge a players action in the emotion of the game. also smith has always been a emotional firecracker. But before we whine about football players "acting out" we should look to our own communities and families. before we point fingers we should look at our own families and situations. a player speaks out and even hits a team mate and gets a lot of press, a guy from a neighbor kills 2 people and you dont even hear about it .

Umm...do you watch Panthers games? Please realize that most QBs don't throw it a foot over the head of their receivers on every single pass. The guy has probably taken more abuse over the last 7 years than any other receiver in the league. He and Hines Ward take more punishment as WRs than any other receiver. Only difference is that Ward looks for the punishment.

Well that's a good point about the PSLs. I won't defend any team sticking it to their fans with those. And I agree with everything you said after that, too. But to say the Panthers are losing is just not true. Come be a Rams fan with me for one year. 7-9 will look like the Patriots 18-0 season to you.

And all guys I would never want on my team. And so you don't think I'm picking on black guys, I'll give you a white guy who fit this mold...that DE from the Jets, Gastineau. Same deal.
