Luke Kuechly: Teddy Bridgewater 'understands it's a performance-based business'

That's the pot calling the kettle black. Some of you really should learn how to use Google an check your facts first.

The floor price for a starting quarterback is around $20m according to Spotrac https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/quarterback/

Teddy ranks only 16th in average salary, and the only ones below him are Rothlisburger(after a huge restructuring), backups and qb's still under their rookie deal.

$20m might have been top 5 money 10 years ago, but thats just the floor these days. It's called inflation.

We took a calculated gamble because he was familiar with the system Brady was installing, and did well in it the year prior going 5-0. It didn't work. Life sucks, get over it.

You can cry in your beers all you want, but some of you armchair GM's need to check your facts first and start looking at the team long term.

Bridgewater has a voidable year after this year, and we're about 1 year away from being a complete team. But the bricks are being put in their place, and theres a light at the end of the tunnel.

I know it's hard to be patient when your definition of success is a Superbowl or we're trash, so you might wanna start lowering your expectations and get with the process, otherwise you're always gonna be disappointed.

Exactly. He’s paid where exactly he is ranked in starting QBs. We got what we paid for, where is the confusion?

And it’s 40 million, not 60. Whenever someone starts off with completely ignoring the fact 33% of his money and contract is an option you know they’re being melodramatic.

Anyone thinking we’d get elite QB play for 20 million a year (half of what elite QBs get), on a two year deal is delusional.

Get over it, a failed QB attempt, but he was clearly a bridge in the first place. He has 1 year left.

Yeah but I gave you an "or" statement. We already know that Grier isn't the guy. That's extremely obvious. So you want a top 5 pick?

I believe they can get a franchise QB later this year in Kyle Trask. Herbert was my bandwagon last year, me and Marty. I've already said here that Trask is the value pick. Instead of mortgaging the future on a player that ain't yours and may never be yours, and publicly thirsting for a Teddy replacement to no avail, perhaps picking Pitts or BPA and perhaps moving up into later in the first and getting a QB that has outperformed his much/over hyped and lesser performing peers, may be a more rational approach as opposed to the dramatic.

I am struggling with your logic train, though. You say draft Trask in the second, then to start Grier over him to get a top 5 pick in the 2022 Draft.

If Trask is that good(and your Trask-crush is well documented at this point) then why in the world would it make sense to start a 3rd string QB over him?

I just can't really follow what you think we should do. It's all over the map.

He's the 8th best QB in the NFL??????

How does that work exactly?

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
