Even if Sam continues his terrible trajectory  our team is talented enough to fall into 5 wins. We won 5 last year with the most inexperienced D in the league, Teddy and no CMC.

This is not a win win, chances are we end up 8-8 drafting in the middle of round one, looking to trade up while we just traded away assets that would have helped.

bruh, to trade up teams are mostly interested in 1st round picks.

this trade will not stop us from moving up in next years draft if we want to.

What draft have y'all seen Sewell drop pass 5???

I need to know, Sewell is like to next best thing outside of the QBs. If so many teams didn't need/want a QB he would definitely be 2nd overall...the delusional is contagious on this board, I just started a thread on peewee QBs yeah I'm going to bed.

Sewell at 8, that's like saying Fields at 1 Lawrence falls to 49ers, because the Jets still take (buster)Z.Wilson

They are interred in more than first round picks, and the lower you are on the draft board the more you have to give up.

What if Sam turned out to be Josh Allen or Ryan Tannehill Type? If He not turned out to be like them? I would be Idiot.

I just watched a couple of videos from NFL Network and all of them say the same thing.  Darnold had poor coaching and no talent around him.

If we address our O-line in this draft he'll have protection and talent around him.

After watching these videos I believe Darnold is going to excel in Carolina.  Battista seems to know her stuff about the Jets and I enjoyed her take.

NFL Network's Kurt Warner: 'Can't say I'm fully surprised' the Carolina Panthers traded for quarterback Sam Darnold

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport: Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule has been a 'huge fan' of quarterback Sam Darnold since interviewing for New York Jets job

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah: Quarterback Sam Darnold trade is a 'win-win-win' for QB, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets

NFL Network's Judy Battista: Former New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will have a 'better chance at success' in Carolina

Josh Allen??? Last time I checked Allen still on the same team that drafted him. And Tannehill was way better than Darnold.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
