Panthers pre draft press conference

I think Rhule just doesn't care about the media on the same level some players don't. He basically refused to answer most of the questions and everything he did respond to was pretty non-answer.

He's probably working his ass off which is want we want to see and what his passion for the game is. Watch the video of him at the Senior Bowl.

Looks don't matter.

that cap cause after the Vikings game when his PR told him time was up he said no he felt like this was a game he had to answer every question to so its not that he hates the media.. I mean could be a lot worse up there in NYC.

am I the only one that has a sense of relief that for the 1st time in probably a decade that the panthers will go into a draft with somewhat intelligent people drafting.  I'm not worried or scared they will screw it up.

Came here to post this exact same thing after finally seeing the presser.

Yep, same feeling.

Fitt seems to know what he needs, and what Rhule wants, and looks to have a plan.  They obviously get alone and seem to share a vision.

I'm more relieved than I have been in damn near 20 years.

I want a left tackle pretty badly, and if we don't get one I'll be annoyed.

But I'm not gonna melt down. I'll do the same thing I do every time the Panthers make a move I disagree with and hope for the best.

That said, if a quarterback is on the board at 8 and we don't take him, I agree several people are likely gonna go apesh-t.

Then prepare to see people lose it because I really feel they won't take one, I think trade back if one is there.

    • I don't think Stroud will bust, but I doubt he will ever be considered elite.
    • Canales was asked about Freeling at OTAs getting beat by Princely and Scourton.  He basically described the learning curve, and it sounds as if Freeling has a lot to learn before taking the job.  Walker gives us time.  Having said that, Motown talks like he has a few (2-3?) years left---and I would love to see it.   If you look at the contracts, It is a good bet that Hunt and Lewis are extended and given some guaranteed $$$ to lower the cap hit.  Lewis is about 29 and Hunt is 30, I believe.  That gives us about a 3-year window to start grooming their replacements.  Ickey seems to be the person who could be left without furniture in the musical chairs game.  I would move him to guard and use him like a Travelle Wharton--we have a good problem--we could have six or seven starting OL on the roster.  Of course, that won't last long.
    • I see this point and agree--However, someone is going to bite.  In fact, I think there will be some bluffing going on to make the desperate teams raise the stakes.  We shall see.
