:nonod: How are we going to trade him when he only signed a one year contract. I wheather not resign him to another large 1 year contract. He ain't worth the risk. We need to use the money else where on the team. This team has other needs to address. Like resigning Dwill and TD gettting some young beef up guys for the DT postions and we really need some better WRs to help out smith and most of all find us a freaking Qb who can throw like a brady are manny. Peppers has slowed down and got fatter in the past 2 years and he is turing 32 next year. It is time for people stop kissing peppers ass and let him go. Peppers is just not worth it. Time to move on and find a new front four. Peppers is the last remaining orginal front 4 from the SB year. But is then and this now. Time to move on without him.:nonod:

if we could use the money next year to improve on the DLine as a whole, no, let him go. one great defensive can't do much when the rest of the line sucks. and the defensive line's work is all for naught anyway if the quarterback can't complete a pass.

somebody has to make the money...so il give it to him.when he is not on the field the team looks like boys going against men.(he did too a couple times against long but got doubled some too)
Ha Jared allen of the Vikings get double team aswell but he always manges to get sacks and constant pressure on the QB all the time. Pepper is turning 32 this coming year and is not worth risking 20 plus million on him. Hell Peppers can't even get a second string QB and agaist a oline that has more injuries then our oline has. that shows you that peppers no longer can preform at a high level. The only time he got his sacks this season was mainly from crappy teams like the bucs and skins. And he caught the cards on a off day. besides that every other game this season peppers seems to disappear and get man handle by other teams oline most of the time. Is that how blind some fans are. Peppers has shown this season that he can not produce agaist good teams one bit. So why would you risky 20 million plus on a guy is getting old and can no longer produce at a high level like he use to.

well, when Pep was healthy....Davis was in and healthy...and the DT problem was fixed w/ Hollis and Tank....the run defense was looking good. Pep never gets enough credit....injury has hurt the D recently. All this team needs is a coach, QB and Wr.

Jared Allen has other playmakers around him helping him to succeed - Peppers does not.

Nah, you let him go in the offseason. We will need it to take the cap hit of cutting Jake.
Well that ain't the point. If the league goes into a uncap year. We should have more then enough money buy jake out if we get a new GM and coach is willing to do that. We still have a months before we know if fox will get canned. At this point I hope he does.

I seriously doubt we will be willing to pay Peppers 20 million for one season, so if he won't sign with us he will be gone.

If Peppers is any kind of a man, he will agree to a sign-and-trade deal so we can get some kind of compensation for him. The contract could stipulate that he would have to give final approval on any trade we work out so he could still control where he ends up. We offered to make this guy the richest defensive player in the history of the NFL after the worst season of his career, it's time for him to do right by us.

Well let's hope for an uncap year. If we don't, then we're stuck. Honestly, I would rather we use that money to resign Marshall, T.Davis, and extend D.Will if possible.

    • Dave would have the excuse/logic that he hasn’t been able to bring a QB that fits his O.  That was the prior HCs QB and it got that HC fired with quickness.   Can’t expect Dave to win this year without a QB if he went 5-12.  Morgan tied Bryce to him by not dealing him.   Be horrible this year and Dave isn’t getting more time most likely
    • That's a serious word salad. Anywho. Both Justin Fields and Daniel Jones have always had something Bryce Young does not possess. The necessary physical tools.
    • What it feels like is a horrible source reality. What a person sees is a horrible source for reality. Stats can be easily misunderstood because because they are interpretive and contextual. Very large data sets with dozens more more connected variables are difficult to deal with and understand correctly. Throw in confirmation bias, abstraction, emotions and the way human brains are wired make it really easy to roll with eye tests and intuition. The negativity for Bryce was really high and most were ready to trade that asset for peanuts until the second half of last year when he began to play much, much better.  Hope sprang eternal.  The Saints game last year.  Going toe to toe and almost beating the two teams who went to the Superbowl last year.  Beating the Falcons when the Falcons had everything to play for.  Haters started adjusting their tune. Fan and media starting saying it looks like Carolina has found their franchise QB.   The real answer was and is, maybe. If he plays great on Sunday the anti-Bryce crowd will find other excuses or say it's only one game. If he plays horrible, it'll be more of the "I told you so. I knew it before he was drafted." (which is beyond stupid since there there is not an actual way to know if a player will be successful in the NFL or not.) I'll leave with a simple example.  Of the initial list of incompletions due to WR error, Jarod Goff has 0.  He was 31 for 39 at an almost 80% completion percentage.  His WR's much has balled out. Except when you add the facts that only 11 of those passes were to WRs.  14 were to RB's and 6 to the TE.  Gibbs has 10 of those receptions and he's elite so that explains why we shouldn't put much stock into this stat.  But then we see that Gibbs also set an NFL record with the least number of yards (31) for any player with at least 10 receptions in a game. Fun stuff! Oh yeah.  From week 1 how many people had Justin Fields and Daniel Jones playing at elite levels?
