Person confirmed "Panthers brass" was in attendance for last night's game but didn't specify who.

He did say scouting director Cole Spencer was there to watch Pickett and Sam Howell when they faced off against each other a while back.

According to Scott "not me" Fowler (in whom it sounds like Pickett might have found a fan) Dan Marino was also in attendance last night to watch the guy who broke his single season touchdown record at Pitt.

Fake slide, real arm: Pickett won ACC for Pitt. Could he be answer for other Panthers?

Sam Howell = Mitch Trubisky

Didn't really have strong feelings about Trubisky other than that I thought he wasn't worth the second overall pick.

I've been a Howell fan in the past, but haven't seen much of him this season. People who have seem to be tempering their expectations.

Fair or not though, it's likely inevitable that the ghost of Trubisky's failure will haunt Howell to some level.

This is a terrible post

    • I guess this is a thing where people begin to forget the more time passes but my recollection of the huddle over the last 20 years is this is how it has always been. And if you attempt to wade into the murky waters of X or Facebook it's the same thing. The difference is people are bothered or unbothered by it based almost entirely on whether the context of the conversation is perceivedly positive or negative and reaffirms whatever biases they hold.
    • Agreed, which scares me. Hyperbolic, but the offense having even mediocre success this year might entirely hinge on what the RB who hasn't played in a couple years can do. The other answer is obviously Bryce and Idzik unlocking something, but neither of these things seem like good bets. Scared we're going to see a defense on the rise consistently let down by bad offense who can throw together 3 drives a game and that's it.
