I agree he has a pretty good arm but its a bit of a stretch to say he has most NFL throws out of all all the prospects based on a highlight video.

According to this:

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Carolina Panthers select QB Sam Howell at No. 6, New Orleans Saints land Ole Miss QB Matt Corral at No. 16 | NFL Draft | PFF

Howell actually leads all of the QBs for most big time throws over the last 3 years.

Thats like being the tallest midget with this crop of qbs

I think Howell will move into top 15 pick in the draft Process and prevent us from getting 1 of the best Olinemen in the 1st..

outside of his interviewing how is he going to rise?  I suspect he wont throw at the combine and his measurables will probably leave people with a bit of negativity.  He is listed as 6'1 but I would bet dollars to donuts it will be a miracle he hits 6ft.  I think at this point for guys like pickett and howell the tape is what it is.  I dont see either rising unless one blisters the senior bowl.  But Jones did that last year and he actually fell so who the fug knows

The small QB thing is gone when you have Baker and Kyler going number 1 and both barely 5'9 (kidding on Baker but he is short)  ..

Howell will shine on pre draft private workouts because he has a very good arm.. Ppl will excuse his down year due to his loss of talent on the roster.. He can run (1,000 yards rushing this year) so that will entice OC that love running RPO's.. And most teams will go and watch prior years tape and love him...

Dude he's going to come up the ranking before draft time...

Howell will definitely throw… heck, he’s even accepted an invite to the senior bowl.

Howell is a smart dude and will take advantage of every opportunity he has. He knows the senior bowl is his only chance to play behind a good offensive line all year.

One of the main narratives from Tar Heel fans is that Howell simply didn’t have help this year. If he performs well in all of the activities leading up to the draft then he can give credence to that notion and really help his draft stock.

Baker is simply not a good qb.  I think his height factors into it a lot.  Murray I am 100% sure that his height factors in to his poor play.  The Rams just totally locked him down by squeezing the pocket in and making him throw from it.  He couldnt see and had a horrific night.  Once you stop running its over/

I dont think Howell is a runner just that he has the ability to move if necessary.  Time will tell what teams think of him.  I would imagine he goes mid teens

Good you come up with reason why they didn't work.. But they still got drafted number 1.. So the whole point is teams are looking past height requirements when it comes to QBS these days.  10 years ago you're right.. Now it's a different story..

That narrative may very well flip due to the examples I just listed.  Wilson is the only "short" qb to win the SB and he did that by having an offense that rolled him out and used his mobility.  I dont see Howell with anything close to wilsons wheels.

Again I am biased as I prefer my qbs with size.

I mean Rodgers is the reigning MVP and a will be a HOF QB. He is 6’2” and Howell is 6’1” so I’d say height isn’t that big of a deal with these wide open offenses. People are hating on Murray for getting shut down by a dominant defense in the playoffs while playing without his top weapon and not 100% himself. That’s like saying big mobile QBs don’t work because the Broncos shut down Cam in the Super Bowl. Before he got hurt Murray was putting up MVP numbers.

    • Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
