I expected Duke to lose. That was a ton of pressure put on those kids to deliver.

This is a rivalry, the best in college basketball and arguably the best in all sports.  You go to Duke or UNC to play in this game.  This game is pure pressure.

Duke wasn't acting much like they were under pressure.  They dominated stretches of the game however, UNC was resilient each time Duke punched Carolina Punched back.

Everyone wants to say Duke played poorly but Carolina outlasted them and outplayed them down the stretch.  Carolina scored 55 points in the 2nd half.  Duke was outplayed and out coached.

Duke was the #4 team in the country and Saturday the better team won.

Duke started out tight from the nerves. They tightened up again when Carolina took the lead late. K just never recognized it. He left them hung out there to dry. He also never adjusted to UNC changing the way they played Banchero. They had no answer for him isolating early on but once they softened to avoid giving up the drive and to give up the shot Banchero proved unable to score when he couldn't get to the rim. Forcing him to settle for pull ups led to a lot of missed shots and ultimately Carolina rebounds.

The most beautiful thing about that loss for duke is that it was a really poor night of coaching for K.

Bet @4Corners is still passed out

I don't pay much attention to college basketball but I caught the second half because it was a game of historic importance.  K looked like he wanted to kill his entire team and then himself during that ceremony.

Also holy poo imagine camping out for weeks and/or dropping a down payment on a house just to watch that.

Ha! I was so jacked up it took me a while to get to bed. I’m not a drinker. I almost went out and did some yard work to burn off some of the excitement.

This W was one of the biggest wins in team history - and arguably the biggest win in regular season history of the program. They absolutely ruined the party in front of all the entire brotherho….I mean Semesterhood and you could tell Mike did not want to be there for little after party that felt more like a funeral than a celebration.

I just can't for the life of me understand what Hubert is trying to run on offense. His offense seems completely predicated on outside jumpers falling and is setup by either isolation dribble attacks or the same tired three man top of the key weave. Our starting guards were a combined 5-27 from the field and 3-17 from three to score 20 very inefficient points combined. Meanwhile, our lone true post player and ACC POY runner-up was 9-10 for 19 incredibly efficient points.

Our approach seems entirely backasswards.

Heels didn't want none.  They knew what was coming.  Same with all their whiny ass fans calling in the radio saying they didn't want to play Duke again.

LOL…you mean that team we spanked by double digits on their home floor?  GTFOH

Yes the team that spanked you by 20 on your home floor. So you gtfoh. Career best nights from two of your bum  players wouldn't have happened again and you know it. We'll take the double this year.  Enjoy your 1 quality win all year and be gone.

    • If the losses were him not stepping up in key situations then it'd be a disappointment.
    • I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
