Can we get Gilmore to come back?

Apparently its between us and Las Vegas.  If we could somehow get Gilly back, and add Mathieu we would have the makings of our own extremely dominant secondary

Horn/Gilly/Woods/Mathieu, slide Chinn back down towards the LOS and we are in business!

He's not getting any younger and we're not in win now mode...

Plus he wants to get one last big payday methinks

The Panthers are most definitely in a win now mode. Tepper is furious that the team isn't winning yet.

That's what all these signings are because of, win now mode.

Then why are they mostly short term deals with younger guys?

We're not overpaying for long toothed vets

as happy as I am that we are in win now mode, its not like we have done anything stupid or desperate. Every move so far has been savvy.

Wilson - 2 year deal ( 7 seasons)

Hecker- 3 year deal (10 seasons)

Ioanndis - 1 year ( 6 seasons)

Bozeman - 1 year (4 seasons)

Woods - 3 years ( 5 seasons)

Corbett - 3 years (4 seasons)

Forman - 1 year (4 seasons)

If they go after Armstead and mathieu,, that's two more vets with 9 seasons on what will probably be multi year deals for each.

I don't think any of those guys are over 30 though

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
