Fortunately our much more skilled at talking to the public GM with good chance at a longer term career here is doing more of the public talking.

I'd rather hear Fritterer speak because he's more skilled at being informative but not saying dumb things. I sense most want Rhule and Tepper to speak to have something to be angry about.

I wanted Tepper to speak to get a sense of what he thought about the current state of things and the direction of the franchise. From my perspective, I always thought that it was a little bit counterproductive to give him a fourth year and not a fifth because Rhule could indeed be thinking that he has  to draft this way or take that chance, and simply make reckless moves for the short term without any consideration for the long term. I always had trouble reconciling Tepper keeping Rhule this season and allowing him to add so much experienced staff only to chop him off at the knees. Now don't get me wrong; I still believe that Tepper will chop Rhule off at the knees if we continue in 2022 where 2021 left off, but if we show improvement, I can understand why Tepper would keep him another season. That being said, I'm not fond of Rhule's shtick--maybe it's just his personality--and am skeptical about how he's coached thus far (including his handling of personnel). Maybe the veteran additions to his staff will make him better.

Hopefully he did.. So far not shitting on Sam until you have his replacement in house is a good 1st step..

Yeah, we will see. He was also known for being a loud mouth in his career, so who knows if that has changed. It typically gets worse and not better with age.

No, saying that a QB who has 54 TDs, 52 INTs, and 29 fumbles in 50 games is very good makes me shake my head. Get it right!

Okay got it..

Lying to regain some value or get something out of a asset you're financially committed to makes your head explode..

Rodger that ...

Regain some value out of a guy that has 54 TDs, 52 interceptions and 29 fumbles in 50 games...🤣

You seem to have a hard time understanding nuance. Being financially on the hook for Sam Darnold and being financially committed to him are two separate things.

Lastly, if Tepper believes what he's saying, he's not lying. But, if he is lying and everyone knows he's lying, then it is of no strategic value at all, and you need to stop pushing such idiocy.

I know we all think Tepper is either lying or is simply delusional when he said that Sam Darnold is a "very good" QB. I was listening to the local sports station in the Triangle when host Joe Giglio gave everyone a dose of reality about Darnold in the form of stats. And, yeah, I know that people say stats lie, but it's just hard to spin these regardless of whatever excuses that anyone wants to use to delude themselves into believing that Darnold is anything more than what he has been.

In 50 games, Sammy has 54 TDs, 52 interceptions and 29 fumbles. That's horrible!

There's no way that I believe that anyone can come to the conclusion that Darnold is anything but a bad QB from that. Even with the excuses, perhaps you can conclude that his ceiling is average, but based upon his career, the ceiling for him is not very good [see what I did there?]!

Darnold has done nothing to raise the level of play for any team that he's played on (and, when I say "team", I'm thinking annually because each team is different).

I simply don't believe that Tepper believes what he's saying in reference to Darnold; if he does, then we're all just wasting time here.

He didn't want Cam, then he didn't want Teddy Bridgewater. He tried to get Matthew Stafford and then Deshaun Watson. Now, we're supposed to believe that he believes that Darnold is a "very good quarterback"?

50 games, 54 TDs, 52 INTs and 29 fumbles!

I agree that Tepper saying Darnold is a "very good QB" is absurd and stupid. At the same time I don't think he truly means it when we were actively looking into Deshaun Watson trade this offseason. Actions speak louder than words. And the notion that we should say positive things to support our current QB because we need leverage doesn't make sense. You can't make sh*t smell good. The whole league knows Darnold is ass. Honestly Tepper should have just said that he defers to the coaches and GM for the QB situation. You are responsible for what you say, you'll either be proven a liar or a dumbass.

He did actually say several times that certain inquiries were "a Scott question".

If he ever referred to anything as "a Matt question" though, I missed it.

I believe he was referring to the question about Darnold only...Tepper should've referred to and deferred to the football knowledge of Fitterer an Rhule in reference to the Darnold question.

I get that, but this was something I noticed in general.

The easy way to win in poker is to get the best hand from luck.

Another way is to convince the opposition you have the best hand when you don't.

But what really sets the best players apart is to convince people that even if they know they have the better hand, you will protect yours so much that it will still not be worth while to bet.

Tepper knows Darnald suck, he also knows he get a lot better deals on qbs is he can convince everyone he think Darnald is the best hand. And obviously he has the fan base och local media fooled...
