The Darnold Compensation is Now Official

Unsure how it will shake out career wise, but the compensation is now known with players, no longer future picks:

2021 6th:

Trey Smith OG Tennessee - This pick ended up being shipped to KC from NYJ.  It turned out pretty damn well but these are hit/miss and he fell due to medical.  We had a chance to draft him twice before this pick in the round.  It is simply not the trades fault, rather our own for not taking the chance instead of Deonte or Fletcher.

2022 2nd (38):

Arnold Ebiketie EDGE ended up being picked by ATL at 38.  The Jets trade to NYG, the Giants trade it to Atlanta.  A developmental, slightly undersized edge rusher.  Boom/bust

2022 4th:

Max Mitchell OT ended up going to the Jets with their 4th rounder.  I liked him, has a lot of potential at RT or guard.  Developmental, will likely be a depth piece.

I will not provide much more commentary, but it is known.

Looking at that list, one can see why the Rams trade for proven players and ignore the casino that the draft is.

I guess trading for unproven players makes little more sense even if this was an all time miss. And regardless nothing excuses the option pick up.

    • I miss many of the OGs like @ladypanther Zob had a bad off week and came in here to do some mopping and a couple of the 10 year 15k post account he just banned over a silly disagreement, just odd behavior from Zob. A Pessimal deal happened with Lady and others. I tired to find a new forum and could not get around the signing up part...same for discord. Its not perfect here by any means, but I still feel welcomed here for the most part and this place does have the most freedom. I hate how the right vs left BS nearly cooked this place, I still believe in removing the litterbox, toxic as hell and lollolols @ anyone coming into a team forum to talk about pointless politics of the uni party turds.  @Bear Hands you saved this place with your activity. It helped offset the lost of OGs and the knowledgeable that leftd.    It would help for new members and I do get the spammers deals, just got to mod them away and hope opening the door brings in fresh blood.
    • Young went to bama and Brissett went to nc state.
    • That seems about right. No higher than that for a bottom third qb with two years left, including one expensive year. He played well enough last year to show he is startable. It depends on whether other teams thought he has any upside left and whether he's been hindered by coaching and surrounding cast. I think most teams would answer no, but if they thought he could step it up just a little I could see trading a fourth or fifth for a bridge guy/top tier backup.
