I think we win tomorrow. No way the squad isn’t locked in after being told over and over they can’t win on the road. We are a better team but I think we see a lot of NYR in the playoffs in the years ahead.

The Canes take 75% of last night's game to NY tomorrow and they win.

Has Freddy been taking practices yet?

I don't think it matters at this point. I don't think it serves anyone well to change up net-minders at this juncture. You dance with the date you brought and, hopefully, Raanta shares some of the Canes confidence after last night and takes a little Raleigh goal-tending to NY with him. That's all he needs- the same games he's played in Raleigh will get him a win in NY.

Ya, short term I agree. I’m talking long term. Raanta is not going to be able to go into another series effectively without some kind of rest. Where as we would have to deal with a week off Vas.

Tampa series is where to make the change if Freddy is healthy. He will be at home and get to settle into the series with the best version of the Canes playing in front of him. We would need some gritty defensive performances against Tampa.

Hopefully he is ready.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
