We seem to have some sort of fetish for being different than everyone. Listen, the NFL is a copycat league and being innovative can give you a big edge.

This poo isn't innovative, however. We tried that poo with Joe Brady and it failed. I don't see anything these fuging guys are doing that seems "innovative." They just need to be different than anyone else in the NFL for some reason and the results are in. fuging STOP.

This sums up the team for the last few years even before we got rid of Rivera. Double dipping and luxury picks screwed us as bad as well Hurney drafts add in some below mediocre coaching and you get the seasons we've had under Rhule. The one constant in the last few years is being different for no reason...and that doesn't even include the choice to go to turf.

... not trading for Jimmy Garoppolo.

The general issue with Baker Mayfield was supposed to be bad attitude. Garoppolo comes off as something worse here, specifically a bad teammate.

It was already likely to be difficult for the 49ers to get anything for him. This story certainly doesn't help.

Okay, and Baker was a locker room cancer who divided the locker room. Guess what we found out when he got here?

Likely the same story with Gorropolo

C’mon, even you know there’s no way we wouldn’t eat a large portion of his deal to get some savings and even a really late round pick. Little had $2.7M remaining on his deal. Bridgewater made $4.4M in Denver. Baker is making $4.86M with us. Yes, Little was less but it’s not a huge difference in contract numbers.

The only problem is that we seem to be in on all the former 1st round QBs that get traded after a team guarantees them a lot of money. Seems like something we don’t want to keep doing.

You assume that we would be willing to eat that same large portion of his salary.

Notice how little speculation there is around a Sam Darnold trade. I would imagine that is because there are literally no suitors. If Jimmy G and Baker Mayfield had a combined total of one team with serious interest, there is basically zero likelihood of moving Darnold without begging and offering draft capital. There is little reason to do that and I don't think Rhule is interested in trading Sam.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
