Pass ratio? Sure.

Joe Brady, on yet another thread?  pass

Rhule hate?  There's no horse left and there hasn't been for while. We're well past horse bits, all that's left is splatter, but we are going to beating the shlt out of whatever's left.

Only wins will change any narrative on Matt Rhule.

Matt Rhule's new OC calls a higher % of pass plays than Matt Rhule's old OC.

it's just example 32493 of Matt Rhule's rhetoric always being nonsense.  What Matt Rhule has been and is to date remains relevant in Matt Rhule discussions.

There is no 7 year plan, there is no vision and there is no identity.  Every year he is just throwing junk at the wall.

Every discussion is a bitch about Rhule discussion with you.

We get it.  You're mad that Rhule acquired Sam Darnold, and he absolutely sucks and made Brady look bad so Brady got fired.

We couldn't run last year either and that's partially Rhules fault too for relying on 4th rounder with absolute ass for hands that his wife recommended in the draft.

Please let it out.   We'll all pretend we haven't heard it 32493 times before.  Go on, you're going to anyway.

I was asking about pass ratio in preseason.

I would think McAdoo's track record as a playcaller would be more relevant than his preseason pass ratio.   Given there is no game planning and the emphasis in preseason is about working specific scenarios, situations, etc.

And his ratio as a playcaller is easy to find.  You were the one hypothesizing about what McAdoo might do this season in terms of pass ratio.  Based off history, it says we are going to pass slightly more.

vs Buffalo we logged officially 25 rush attempts and had 36 pass attempts.  So that trends an even higher pass ratio than McAdoo is known for.

So again, seems relevant if you want to talk about our O.....what Rhule says he wants to be seems like a pretty relevant topic to reference.

I know what his ratio was.  It was heavy pass which is what I'm hoping for.

Heavy pass ratio in preseason would just be an additional data point.

I hope McAdoo does for Baker what he did for Eli: career years.  Baker with CMC, DJ, Robbie, Higgins, TMJ, Smith as weapons and  Ekwonu, Moton, Corbet, Bozeman and Christensen, up front, its the best our O has looked on paper in 5 years.

Less than two weeks.  I cannot wait.

It was an even heavier pass ratio vs Buff than his normal in season play calling.  That’s your extra data point.

Does anybody have the pass to run ratio in preseason?

It may be me being hopeful, but are we passing more, particulaly on first down?

Might we actually see an O like McAdoo did his first 2 years in NY?

The data say 75 rushing attempts, 104 pass attempts.

11 of the 75 rushing attempts were by QBs. I only recall the one zone read Darnold did to score the TD so assuming we didn't have any other called QB runs, the other 10 QB rush attempts were likely pass play calls.

This is exactly the type of thing I am hoping for.  Reducing the run game and emphasizing the pass will leverage what we have in DJ and Baker, and preserve CMC.

Eli:
2013 pre-McAdoo        3818 yards 18 TDs  27 ints 57.5 cmp%
2014 McAdoo               4410 yards 30 TDs   5 ints 63.1  cmp%
Baker:
2021 pre-McAdoo        3010 yards  17  TDs  13 ints 60.5 cmp%

I still get a hearty laugh out of your old extremely pro Sam Darnold threads poundaway.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
