But that was why Gilmore wasn't worth it. We went 2-6 when he was here and we lost to Tampa anyway. It was ultimately pointless.

True, he and Cam could not save the season.

You have to factor in at the timing of the trade, yes the out-come was poor. But at the time, panthers just lost 1st rounder JC horn and looking playoffs. Plus if Gilmore landed on the bucs, he could have pushed them into a long playoff run. Minor but screw any success for the yucs. Totally understand the move and agreed when it happened. The result was not good and Fineserrererere could have got a comp pick out of him too.

Plus *not talking about Sam*. Many of these trades are for 6th and 7th rounder........ Panthers just lost a late 7th due to depth. No issues thus far, but if 3s 4s 5s start getting tossed around with poor results.......I'll channel my mr.11 bitach mode.

Yeah, the failures are largely for lower round picks but this can easily go the other way. If Henderson doesn't pan out and Baker only sticks around for a year with modest team success, now we are looking at a scenario where almost none of Fitterer's trades have been very successful.

The same argument could easily be used for Daley or Little. It isn't like we got a windfall. In Little's case we turned a 2nd rounder into a 7th. So those aren't exactly home runs, other than the fact that none of us even believed it was possible to get that out of them.

So that's why I don't fall in mine with the "Fitterer is a genius with trades" crowd. I don't see a genius yet. I see some definite potential to be a very shrewd guy, pending some players panning out. But I also see that he could just be a guy appearing to doing a lot and accomplishing very little.

Time will tell.

Far as little and daley, shocked he got ANY picks/player for either. SHOCKED.

I think hes putting a big effort into adding team talent. No GM is going to win 10 trades in row. Hes also going for low-cost high reward type of trades, thats what I like my GM to do. I do not think hes a genius, but very simply hes not either gettlegut or Smarty "gave me a" Herniay. Thus by default, he is WINNING..... Rhule is not the only one that needs a good showing this year, finesser does need some good results too *form all the trades/draft picks.

Yeah but we also might just have our bar set too low.

TBD.

    • And even worse you have injuries force you to play anther one dimensional train wreck combine that with Orlov being no were close to as advertised and boom you have 3 defensemen being dressed who couldn't defend my 96 year old grandmother. That said next year having Slavin,Miller,Nikishin,Chatfield gives you the best shutdown d man in the league two large athletic HIGH offensive potential D who can take away time and space....   The more I think about it the more I like this seasons approach, if you bring back burns or aquire anther large RHS with length you have 5 D all over 6'2 and 210 with three of them having great offense too, make no mistake they want size and skill on the blue line now and its almost 100% directed at getting past FL.
    • Honestly the 2024 draft class(minus brooks). All are in line to be starters, expect crumedy who's fighting for a 53.  Still that class was looking terrible, is now looking like 4 starters and maybe 1 depth. Anytime you draft 2 starters and a key depth piece its a good draft. 4 starters are rare and that's with brooks who could have made 5 starters if not for awful luck.  That draft also helped land starter Michael Jackson in a round about way, big bonus..
    • Officially heading to the Jags game week one!  Section 240, visitors side just outside the club section.
