ESPN has him as 6’2”. I think some sites are pulling in for from the hockey player Cam Ward who appears to be around 6’0” or 6’1”

I guess that would make sense.  He is 6'3 here.  https://247sports.com/player/cameron-ward-46080717/

He looks big in those clips.

Yeah he is put in a bad situation, no doubt. But I feel we’ve seen years of outstanding college QBs from Ohio State amount to nothing in the NFL. Their system is just so good and they are always surrounded by elite talent. Just makes me hesitant.

Bingo!  I said that about Fields and got the 3rd degree for it.

For me it's:

1. Will Levis

2. Bryce Young

3. C.J. Stroud

I don't trust Ohio State QBs in the NFL. I'd be happy with Young, but his size does concern me.

Levis is the best balance of traits/experience/potential in this class, IMO. Get him a good offensive coach who can put together a staff that will develop him and his ceiling is absurdly high.

You guys are still sleeping on McCall.  Dude ain't the biggest, fastest or strongest arm, but all he does is ball out and win.  Kid twisted his ankle last game early in the 3rd quarter last week and already had a full game worth of stats in.  Even though his team was winning comfortably and the backup QB was holding his own, he STILL was pleading his case to the HC to come back in and finish the game on a bum ankle.

I have nothing against him.  He checks most boxes.  The small school thing worries me a little and I don't think his arm as a strong as Young, Levis, and Ward, but arm strength obviously isn't everything...

My biggest worry is the offense that CCU runs.  They run the option to set up the pass.  After getting burned in the option game, their opponents roll more defenders in the box and McCall lights them up.  I mean, if we get rid of this staff and get a new one that embraces RPO concepts, that would play to McCalls strengths. Of course fewer and fewer of these college QBs are coming into the League as pure pocket passers anyway.

    • Have to stop making everything about BY. They will and have been bringing in players to improve the TEAM, not just Bryce Young. Which is something they should have done BEFORE bringing in a rookie QB. Even Metchie is a generally good pickup at a position of need. He just happens to have played with BY in college. And that doesn't hurt his chances or the team's. Morgan just addressed the biggest areas of need on the team via free agency so they won't be reaching for a position of need in the draft. He's legit picking the best player available for the TEAM in the draft. The o-line was in shambles in 2023. He addressed it in 2024. The d-line was in shambles in 2024. He addressed it in 2025. The pass rush and linebackers were in shambles in 2025. He's addressed it in 2026. Unfortunately good young WRs don't hit the FA market, so can't just throw money at them. You have to draft them. I wonder what some would be saying if they'd spent the amount of cap on the offense that they spent on the defense in 2025 and 2026 - and then used both first round draft picks on defense. Would that have been better in your eyes? No. You would be complaining that the defense is too young to compete and more vets weren't brought in because they're trying to prop up BY. This team should be talented enough now to make some noise in the South. If BY is actually holding them back, then QB will be addressed in 2027. They benched him 2 games into their tenure and you think they're tied to his success. No. That doesn't compute. They're tied to the team's success. BY could throw for 5000 yards and if they're 4 - 13, head's will roll.  TLDR: Their decisions aren't driven by making BY look good. They're trying to improve the team and win games. Period.
    • I still firmly believe that Tepper still has his mandate of make Bryce work or get fired and because of that, it doesn't matter how badly he does... He'll get a long term deal in the 40-50m range and set back this franchise for a decade. Then the Teppers will have another QB infatuation and maybe they get it right then.
