Also, hot take, without Shesterkin, Rangers are only a fringe top 10 team. Gallant has them playing better than they are and obviously having Shesterkin is a massive benefit.

Unfortunate hot take from me based on last year..... Withiut Anderson and Raanta In net we drop from being the #1 or #2 team in the NHL to somewhere around 12th...

That’s valid, they saved our bacon multiple times. I know everyone was furious about moving Ned but it turned out to be the right call in hindsight.

Ned did what every goalie in our system does well when facing 25 shots or less..... Freddie is the only guy on the team who is truly a veniza caliber goalie when he's healthy....   If we had him available for the the Rangers series last season there is no doubt on my mind we advance....

One game but he's currently rocking the highest save % in the NHL at .9677 you win a lot of games stopping 97% of a team's shots.....

I think by design any NFL caliber goalie can perform well in Rods system..... Freddie is the only elite goalie we have had under Rod..... Even if go watch his play as a Maple Leaf he stopped so much crazy poo with nothing in front of him for defense and still stayed around 90%.... (amazing seeing how poorly they play defense)

I said it all post season we protected Raanta far more than we would have needed protect Freddie.... and it took away from our ability to own the puck on the check.

This Devils/Flyers game is really good.

TDA is his old self, has an assist and was invoked in a good scrum.

Brendan Smith already hurt for the Devils…

Dougie Hamilton and Erik Haula out there for the Devils as well.

Dougie is a less athletic less effort intensive Brent Burns....

Smith will probably play through it...

I liked TDAs game but he was way to lateral on the PP....

    • Not many are talking about this player. He played well as a rookie last year. If he refines his blocking, continues studying film, and keeps working hard, I can see him being the next Greg Olsen. I’m expecting 55 catches, 700 yards, 4 TDs this season.
    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
