Let's Tank 2021

Everyone was screaming for us to Tank and get a QB in 2021.

Before I start I want to say that yes, it is possible that all or none of these guys will eventually get it.  Right now, I'm not impressed.

Let's look how each is doing.

Lawrence looking spotty at best.  Shown some flashes but not showing he's a franchise QB, yet.

Wilson looks like he might be turning the corner but clearly not Franchise Material

Lance, is already hurt but in his limited time at QB wasn't showing much.

Fields is definitely not going to be the answer.  He only makes throws that aren't uncontested.

Jones is/was probably the best of the 5 and he might not get his job back from Zappe.

My point is, tanking for a QB is not a sure thing and we should play to our ability and let the chips fall as they may.   If we end up with a top 5 than so be it.  However, if we drop out of the top 5, it's not the end of the world.

Why are you telling us? We can't do a damn thing about what the team does in the field or in the draft.

We can only cheer or boo depending on the results. You are preaching to the choir son.

Hahahahahaha

Everyone, every season, if we aren't doing well, wants to tank for a QB.  Oddly, I've never heard you tell the other 4 million post on tanking your educated response.

I have but it gets buried in the posts and no one listens. I'm just going to let everyone keep saying this as if it somehow works.  Please carry on.

That logic means the forum would fold.  No one in this forum has the power to call plays, draft players, fire coaches or anything else.  What is an acceptable topic?

It’s common sense we have a better chance of drafting a franchise QB winning 3 games instead of 7. Both of those outcomes end up with our asses on the couch watching the playoffs. Who cares about a few extra wins during a mediocre season?

Got it.  Just go into the locker room and tell the players that they need to stop trying so hard so we can get a #1 draft pick.

Oh boo hoo. We are on a fan forum. Obviously players and coaches won’t lose on purpose. I can’t believe I have to explain this to you.

Exactly a fan forum.  This team isn't tanking for anything so a knowledgeable fan, like myself, won't beg for something that is never going to happen.

But we have to put up with the begging and moaning of fans, like you, that don't know much about what it takes to play professional football.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
