Cowher's Coaching record...

he's also an expert at putting people in the right jobs and making it work, taking risks, finding a way to win (no matter how unethical or how much is skirts the rules). he is more dedicated to winning and finishing teams off than any.

he set the bar pretty high. i can't stand him actually but he set the standard for a lot of coaches. he's made the game more competitive.

i will say that is one of the reasons i like jim harbaugh so much. the last time they beat USC, they didn't just beat them...they put the worst whooping on them that anyone has in over 20 years and the most points put up on them ever. they actually scored 50 points on them. they had the game put well away (48-21 late in the 4th quarter) and still went for a two point conversion just to show everyone that they could do it. that's the type spirit i want in a HC. you don't play to keep from losing. you don't even play to win. you play to dominate.

Thats still 4 too lol. '01, '02, '04, and '05

Do you know how to read stats?

Jesus Christ are you kidding?

I said they won three conference championships in the last nine years of Cowher's coaching career.

You said they won 4 conference championships.

I said, no no, three. 2001, 2002, 2004. I am correct. You are wrong.

Is this really that difficult?

You have no idea how Jim Harbaugh is flying up my HC radar. You are right I have never seen one coach take a team like Stanford and transform them into a complete and competitive football team so quickly. He has NFL exp both as a player and coach. He was a damn good QB and a is a damn good QB coach (something we desperately need). The lack of recent success for college coaches transitioning to the NFL gives me pause but his success in the NFL makes me discount that. I think he would be an excellent HC for us.

I caught the conference, division confusion thing.

He has won 4 division championships.

Where do you get 3 conference championships from?

He's only won 2 AFC Conference Championships that got him to the Super Bowl. The order of the playoffs goes Wildcard, Divisional, then Conference. If he won 3 conference championships, he would've been in the Super Bowl 3 times.

pro-football-reference.com is wrong.

Bengals won the division in 2005. They both had a record of 11-5, Bengals got division. Steelers were the wildcard, they beat the Bengals at Cincinnati and went on to win the Super Bowl.

2001- Division Championship.

2002- Division Championship.

2004- Division Championship.

2005- Wildcard.

Three.

Then we'll just call it a draw and call it website error and I'll shoot em an email.

As was pointed out, the division that the Steelers were playing in almost guaranteed 6 wins annually. Except for maybe 4 years out of those 15.

.

I'm sure Sean Payton could vouch for how easy it is to win the NFC South this year.

Fox has had his share of 'give me's too...its when he plays real teams he fails....and is consistently, and I mean, consistently out-coached.

I'd take Cowher in two shakes of a rat's ass.
