A good coach and a good QB can do precisely that. Did you see a path to the Eagles being undefeated? Did you see a path to the Giants success this year?

This isn't a talent deficient team.

Actually it kindof is.   And we were exposed by an above average nfl team.  We looked decent/good vs the dogshit that is the nfcs but when it comes to a real team you see how far off we are.

We talking rookie qb or vet?

It isn't really relevant, TBH. We can take either course and turn this into a team capable of having a winning record.

It will take continuous improvement to KEEP winning, so that has to happen, as well.

But this idea that it's impossible to turn around our fortunes is ridiculous. My God, look at how terrible this division is for that matter. We can still win this division. That's how bad it is.

Obviously this team needs much more then a QB. They need Linebackers, DE, and DLine help. Offense needs TE help and probably a RB. WR would help also.

They can fill some of these in FA if the $$ is available.  Still have to resign some valuable OL players.

After watching that sh%tshow yesterday, the fact that they need help at many positions is obvious. Can't fill all these holes in one season.

Probably will take two or three good drafts and FA signings to be competitive on a constant basis.

Are you okay with remaining patient while they finally built the team the right way?

No more throwing shat at the wall and see what sticks....

Why do you think so many people were pissed they didn’t take the Burns trade?

It kindof is relevant as rookie qbs (who it looks almost a certainty we are taking) typically take a couple of seasons to get their sea legs so I am not banking dropping a top draft pick into this lineup and expecting different results

It isn't talent deficient at all. It's not talent rich but we have plenty of pieces to build on and plenty more we can lock in for a couple of more years to stabilize.

Yesterday's game isn't the entire season. It's one game. We have seen these players(and coaches) for 9 games now. We know that there are very much talented players on this roster.

That can be the results, certainly. But it can also go the other way and you can have immediate success. Lots of factors involved there.

Hence why I also said "good coach."

I am going to agree to disagree because our defense is imploding and teams have figured us out.  That and the fact that if we have all this talent we are still sitting at 2 wins.  Our front 7 needs a massive overhaul and thats not really up for debate.   In regards to our corners, CJ Henderson needs to be cut today.  He brings nothing.

Good coach absolutely, but looking around the league at some of the top rookie qb seasons I aint seeing a whole lot of winning their first year

If they have figured our defense out, isn’t that a coaching scheme?

Thats a bit one and the same.  If we get Jackson, which I am not opposed to but still think its a long shot, then we probably will have to give up our entire draft to trade for him.

He isn’t under contract… we wouldn’t have to give up anything.  If the ravens franchise tag Lamar it’s probably 2 firsts and a mid round… that’s nowhere near our entire draft.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
