I am not sure how this is tallied, but Atlanta and Las Vegas are only a tiny bit ahead of the Panthers--they play better teams (better records) Sunday.  Does that mean we leapfrog them if our records stay the same?

Atlanta SOS is .470 and they play TB who have 8 wins (8-8)

Las Vegas SOS is .471 and they play KC, a team with 13 wins

Carolinas SOS is .474 and they play N.Orleans, a team with 7 wins.

If they recalculate based on the teams during week 17 only, we would leapfrog them.  If it is based on the records of all games played then I have no clue how to figure it out.

It seems that we are sure to leapfrog the Raiders if we both lose or win.

Does anyone know how this is calculated?  Do they figure all teams you played and compile their overall season records, or is it the record when you play them?

It's the former. The combined record of all teams you've played.

If we're tied with the Falcons in wins after next week, a lot would need to happen to jump them in SOS. There is actually a decent possibility the Panthers/Falcons end up with the same exact SOS. The Falcons would win the tiebreaker (division record).

The Raiders will be easier to leapfrog since there are many uncommon opponents. The Bengals losing out would help lower our SOS, so we should all be fans of Panthers North tonight.

A huge game for jumping the Raiders next week will be Chargers vs. Broncos. The Raiders played the Chargers twice and we played the Broncos so a Chargers win would be great.
