we had a chance to really right the ship and get this franchise burned so it can be rebuilt the right way (trading Moore / Burns)

We aren't an attractive team for a top head coach

We could have walked into this draft with a top 2 pick, the packers 1st round pick, Rams second round pick plus all the SF picks.... that ATTRACTS top tier coaching because they can put their own stamp on how the franchise will look. Imagine giving a Demeco Ryans or Ben Johnson that kind of draft capital to build an offensive or defensive juggernaut.

We're not a top tier organization and will likely have at best a close to .500 record next year.... yay

Trading for baker was dumb.  Trading for cj was dumb as hell.  Trading for darnold was borderline retarded.  Picking up Sam’s option was dumb.  Jury is still out on shenault.  Dude didn’t do poo last year.  Fitt had made plenty of bad moves let’s be honest here.

Do you listen to what they say. They are going to keep trying until they get someone at QB. Develop or trade. It's not easy finding or landing a franchise QB. They started with Teddie and who knows if that was Rhule or Brady or Teddy or the combination why that didn't work out. They tried for Stafford and even Watson, there was nobody else out there. When they got Darnold and gave him the extra year, it was a calculated risk. 18 mil for 1 year, but if he plays good that first year, he's getting 35+ mil a year with like 60-100 mil guaranteed. They took a calculated risk. Trading for CJ was again a calculated risk. A 9th overall pick maybe just needed a change of scenery. He's a good 3rd or 4th CB. We just needed him to start at the end, which was over his head. At least they are trying.

The trades to move up and down the draft have been smart. Not every move is gonna work out but the core is there and we might be a few moves and a good coach from making the playoffs. We almost made it to the end with what we had at the end.

So, who is the top tier coach you think they should attract, Hatbaugh, Payton ..?

both of those have pluses and minuses too…both are 60  one left when it got tough with his qb leaving and the other has his own issues with people.

you think Andy Reid  is going  somewhere ?

I dont really care who or what we draft, I just want this new coach and Fitt to have a plan and stick to it.

Rhule seemed to have a plan when he 1st came here, build the team then plunk in the QB. Then he seemed to panic and make swings that didnt make a lot of sense and his verbiage change to 'win now'.

So I dont care if we trade down for future pick next year and run with whoever at QB this year OR we trade up and grab a QB but I just want the moves to make sense and to seemingly have a long term plan.

    • Also, the fact we are comparing this one to the 10 preseason tells me we are in for another horrible year.
    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
