My main takeaway from that is that Josh Klein was right.

Makes up for him being wrong about the new head coach's name starting with 's' 😄

I think others wanted to say it too, but were scared of Rhules wraith.....

Many on here seen it for what it was.....

Anxious to see what it looks like in a true collaboration.

Wondering where those guys are who kept on pushing that idea that Rhule didn't have total control over the roster.

Come on now. We know ppl don't come to the Internet to escape their echo chamber. 😛

They're likely ingesting vast amounts of copium by pivoting to, "Fitterer knew that he was going to be a yes man. It's still his fault that we traded for Sam Darnold."

Gotta wonder if it is Fitt's "fault" that they got Luvu. It was mentioned during an interview that while watching tape on a Jets player that Luvu was noticed. Can't help but think that the actual scout picked up on him rather than the guy micromanaging the marketing department that changed QBs every season instead of developing one.

I'm still not completely sure that trading for Darnold was as terrible as most think, had we just had a coach that could call a game and develop a QB. There were a couple of games in his first season where Darnold put the team on his back and ran the game -- that Vikings one that he almost made a comeback in really sticks out as an "I'll do it myself, dammit" kind of thing. I'm actually hoping we give Darnold another season here as a bridge QB to see if Reich can get him straightened out while developing someone behind him. And Darnold was, sadly, the best QB we fielded last season.

On the Luvu one, something just tells me that one of our scouts found him and snuck him in under the radar. However it happened, he's been a real find. He fits the mold of a Carolina linebacker.

Relevant note from Albert Breer regarding the coaching search...

After the initial round of interviews, David Tepper asked for everybody to rank their top five candidates.

Everybody except himself. Tepper refrained friend from submitting a list or mentioning his own preferences because he didn't want to influence anyone else's opinion.

That tells me two things.

1) He trusts his top people (in this case Fitterer, Morgan, Suleiman and Kristi Coleman)

2) He's learning

I recall Luvu being scouted by Kuechly at some point.

Thought I recalled that as well, but maybe not.

Also glad to hear that Frank is as advertised...a normal NFL guy, not addicted to his own ego.

I remember hearing that Jets tape was being watched on a potential target and they kept noticing Luvu. That's so sick if it was Luke! 😮

    • I always just go back to what I said at the time. Trade Burns to the Rams because it's a fantastic deal. I was screaming it. I'm still angry at Fitt over that. Right after he turned down the deal I said he needed to get into a time machine and go back and make the deal. Hate that dude. Ruined our team. Trading D.J was a major mistake because what matters most in the NFL is the passing game, so you never unload a proven #1 WR when there are other options. Always trade a defensive player over a WR if you have that option available. Fitt was precious about defensive players when we had a passing offense that didn't function. That's how know he was completely incompetent. The passing offense is the top priority, so until that is functioning all defensive players are possible trade fodder. At this point we're in a rebuilding year under a new GM and a QB who looks absolutely horrendous. It makes perfect sense, if you follow all of our moves, that we would be the worst team in the NFL. Of course we are. You can't screw up as a GM that many times over the years and not ruin the franchise. We're exactly where we should be, dead last, or bottom 3. Whichever you like. But this is the here and now. Dan did a good job getting our 2nd round pick back, and we won't know about the picks until they take the field in regular season games. We're in dark until then, but if they suck the Panthers media will hide it shamelessly. Remember when Young was supposed to be a football genius? Yeah he was rancid turds out there when live fire started. There is some hope. Either Young improves and we win more games, or he stays about the same and we draft a new QB in 2025. Either way the NFL will help us out of this jam, but all we need is for Dan not to screw it up.
