It’s what happens when incompetent ownership and GMs get in the way.

I disagree. We have the second best record in the league. I understand the trade deadline is underwhelming for some, especially compared to other seasons, but man, enjoy what we currently have.

This place has become almost unbearable. It is now more negative than Reddit.

Have you been to canes Twitter lately?  This year is becoming eerily reminiscent of last season. Underwhelming TDL acquisitions, poor play down the stretch leading to the playoffs, and an early playoff exit. This widow isn’t staying open forever.

I think fans have a right to be upset. Dundon said the team was going to be aggressive, if being aggressive only referred to Meier then the powers at be deserve a ton of blame for not having a backup plan.

If Dundon would have just said been a little more truthful then I wouldn’t even be upset.

But if this is what being aggressive looks like then I don’t want to see what being timid looks like.

fug it I will leave, this constant whining makes it unbearable to even read this $hit.

I was kidding. There are few of us here so hang around. We are just pissed at Waddell for leaving us out to dry when we are this close. We have a handful of us that are diehard canes fans and get passionate.

    • Canales was asked about Freeling at OTAs getting beat by Princely and Scourton.  He basically described the learning curve, and it sounds as if Freeling has a lot to learn before taking the job.  Walker gives us time.  Having said that, Motown talks like he has a few (2-3?) years left---and I would love to see it.   If you look at the contracts, It is a good bet that Hunt and Lewis are extended and given some guaranteed $$$ to lower the cap hit.  Lewis is about 29 and Hunt is 30, I believe.  That gives us about a 3-year window to start grooming their replacements.  Ickey seems to be the person who could be left without furniture in the musical chairs game.  I would move him to guard and use him like a Travelle Wharton--we have a good problem--we could have six or seven starting OL on the roster.  Of course, that won't last long.
    • I see this point and agree--However, someone is going to bite.  In fact, I think there will be some bluffing going on to make the desperate teams raise the stakes.  We shall see.
    • I could see a team like the Jets, Cardinals etc. bid a second round pick, get a year to see where he’s at, and still take a first round QB if he doesn’t show the right stuff. A risk well worth taking. I just wonder how much of a mental toll the last few months have taken on him?
