Facing Facts on Moore vs. Delhomme

Recommended Posts

- He played better than Jake did vs. the Bucs earlier this year.

- He is more mobile than Jake, and when in comes down to stepping up when needed he did.

- His only turnover was a tipped pass.

- Longest throw better than Jake's longest throw.

- Completed a long pass to Steve Smith, something Jake has yet to do w/o throwing an int.

comments:

- Matt Moore is not the long-term answer. I doubt he could ever throw a 300 yard, 3 TD game in a big game.

- Matt Moore is still a better option than Jake Delhomme. Loyalty means nothing in this league

Bottom Line:

Matt Moore is an average QB, but sadly , average is BETTER than Jake, because Jake Delhomme is playing at a BELOW AVERAGE level.

Had we had a credible Deep Ball threat to Steve Smith all year like we saw yesterday, Defenses would've changed and the Offense would've looked totally different. Assuming Moore doesn't throw 5 INT's a game like Jake.

I don't see how this team can compete with a Jake who can not pass the ball downfield any longer.

Credible deep threat based on one pass? Played better with a 73 rating?

Sad that things have sunk so low. Lets see what happens against a decent team. Even New England is only 7-5 so even beating them is no great task. I hope we win but the chances are not good at all.

That one deep pass is something Delhomme hasn't been able to do all season.

well, he hit it. his teammates came in saying it was one of his strengths. Jake has tried to hit that pass several times to an open Smith and failed every time.

a 73 rating is better than Jake's average this season. If that was a bad/medicore game for Moore....then that is actually a really good thing.

Which Moore didn't miss on that pass and Delhomme has the whole season...

The pass was not well thrown but the inside help was late so Smitty could make the adjustment. That pass needs to be thrown to the outside shoulder where the receiver's body shields the ball from the defender. Again sad that everyone is so excited about an only average thrown pass one time during the game.

Things have sunk pretty low.

What if this is the best he is going to play now that he will play teams with actual defenses. What if his numbers get worse not better. Is that still a good thing?

Like I said...It's a pass that Delhomme has been unable to hit ALL SEASON LONGGG even after Fox feeds us the bulls**t "Jake gives us the best chance to win". Moore only had a couple bad throws...the one in the corner of the end zone and the INT. And on that INT it was mostly a good fake out by the defender and if Moore had more experience, he probably wouldn't have thrown that ball. Everyone is just excited that he's better than Delhomme. He's added a new spark to the fans and gives them something new to see.

    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
