say we do run the table and end up with a 9-7 record (unrealistic)-

here is what would (realistically) need to happen for us to make the playoffs:

Carolina 5-7

@NE - W

MIN - W

@NYG - W

NO - W

9-7

Green Bay 7-4 (currently #6 WC)

BAL - L

@CHI - L - absolutely need CHI to win

@PIT - L

SEA - W

@ARZ - L

8-8

NY Giants 7-5

PHI - L

@WASH - W

CAR - L

@MINN - L

8-8

Atlanta 6-6

NO - L - absolutely need NO to win

@JETS - W

BUF - W

@TB - W

9-7

San Fran 5-7

ARZ - L

@PHI - L

DET - W

@STL - W

7-9

Chicago 5-7

GB - W

@BAL - L

MIN - L

@DET - W

7-9

so in the end:

9-7 CAR (we would own the tiebreaker over ATL)

9-7 ATL

8-8 NYG

8-8 GB

7-9 SF

7-9 CHI

Interesting, as much as I'm trying to fight it...the optimist in me is rising to the surface....ATL may very well lose to the Jets and Bills, unless they get their players back...and Matty Ice wasn't exactly on fire before he got hurt.

I agree with the above, Philly's most likely gonna lock up wildcard or division, so there is realistically only one spot out there, and GB would have to sh*t the bed from here on out.

that's a playoff generator and you can mess around with wins and losses.

it honestly doesn't seem too far fetched, our chances are definitely still there. I hate getting my hopes up, though. :[

It doesnt seem far fetched that we are going to win out against New England, Minny, NY and NO?

damn. thats actually not as bleak as i thought.

of course, we have to actually WIN some of these games coming up... but if we can beat the patriots, we can beat the vikings, the giants, and - maybe - the saints.

if we're 8-7 and still in the running by week 17, and we're playing an undefeated Saints team, it will be a HUGE game.

Not as bad as I orginally thought. The two obvious hurdles are us winning out and Green Bay losing several.

Question: Could we also beat Green Bay if they happen to lose only three times to Chicago, Seattle, Arizona. This way they have three more losses to NFC oppnonets. Or would they still have a better confrence record?

    • I get it but it was still the wrong approach. Need a pass catching back, get one in FA. They're out there. Fill the holes that got you to a 2-15 record with starting caliber draft picks. Just about everything that has been done over the past 3 years has been to prop up Bryce and he still barely got to 3k yards. Part of why I'm still not sold on Dan. Just some really questionable at best team building strategies. The draft results this year were better, but overall, at the end of the season, I don't know that the team is really that much better from when he started. We were a 6 win team that got lucky GB couldn't score on 6 trips into the RZ and the Jets were a train wreck. 16 and 13 point offensive outputs aren't going to usually result in wins.
    • I loved his approach to cap he'll Hurney left us with. He also called time on a couple guys who were aging out of their contract wants.  That was the good.  The rest, he was just an ass and nobody wanted to see shorts hiked up that high on him ever. They're shorts, not a bra. Thank God one of the twins didn't fall out for the world to see.
    • I really wish Flacco would retire and Dalton could just sit on Cincinnati’s bench behind Burrow a couple of years and remember the old times while we find a legit back up.
