The Kind of Coach I Want...

Also, you don't evaluate head coaches based on the yelling at players/statements to media. The supposed best coach in the league, Bill Bellichick, mumbles and says almost nothing to media. They f'ing called him Mumbles when he succeeded Pete Carroll. The idea is the product on the field, not whether he's appropriately whacky after something goes wrong. I expect the things a fan expect after something happens and what's best for a team after something happens are two different things.

Agreed. I think this is one of the big selling points for Cowher. People love his demeanor, charisma and animated persona as opposed to Fox who says little to nothing (and does so in a boring manner).

I don't give an airborne rodent's rectum whether a coach is entertaining or interesting as long as he wins.

ESPN just has to cover their bases and say everyone who underachieves is on the hot seat, so in the event that they are fired, they can say "you heard it here first" or "as _ reported on ESPN"...

The man just won a Super Bowl. The Rooney's don't hire a guy to come in for 2 or 3 years and fire them... Nice try ESPN.

Starting to wonder if Tomlin isn't what we thought he was, and Cowher is what I thought he wasn't.

I was always under the impression that "The Steeler Way" is what made them successful all of these years, and not Cowher. Maybe my assessment was off base.

Also starting to wonder is LeBeau is getting figured out by some the O coordinators in the league.

favorite qoute from mike tomlin:

"We can't stay status quo in terms of how we're approaching this and expect the pattern of behavior or outcome to change," Tomlin said. "That's unrealistic. That's hoping. This is not a hope business."
