Who is the next Matt Schuab?

He supposedly has the "strongest" arm on the Chargers roster. Not saying that I am buying that, but that is the word out of SD. He is pretty much in the worst QB position in the NFL, except for learning from Norv and Rivers....and that little thing about living in So California.

Rivers has never missed a start, and he has little hope of leap frogging Volek. I could see him being lured away for a 3 or 4.

His biggest knock as a Tiger, was his inconsistency. 350 and 3 TD's one game and 3 INT's the next...maybe sitting for a while has helped that.

He has a good arm but its nowhere near Flacco's, Russels, or Cutlers (that might not be such a bad thing). You are right about the inconsistency but he is still one of if not the best QB to play at Clemson. 3rd or 4th rounder? As a 3rd stringer I doubt they could get that for him. Maybe a 5th and I would be okay with that but I say they will have more value for him then just about anyone else in the league. Kinda like us and Moore.

Exactly they drafted him to be the QB of the future. So now they are supposed to let him go for less then what they gave for him (2nd rounder)? Not likely I think Mcnabb has the better chance of playing for a different team then Kolb next season.

This is true....Kolb is not going anywhere. I think both he and McNabb are signed through next season (don't feel like looking that up) so it wil be interesting to see what they do after that. I think the least likely possiblity is parting ways with Kolb.

In my opinion it would make more sense to be talking about getting Mcnabb in the offseason via a trade than Kolb. Although it is brought up every year in the off season (McNabb being traded) I don't know if that would happen especially since Reid got an extension and him and Mcnabb are joined at the hip (and what huge hips they are Andy!). I see both of them in Philly again in 2010 just like this year but we will see.

Did I mention Vick might be for sale though? (I actually think he may wind up with the Rams)

What do you think would be the asking price for Mcnabb? You have no idea how bad I have wanted to have Mcnabb as our QB.

I couldn't even begin to guess. Not even sure there would be an asking price as I truely think he is an Eagle next year without question but stranger things have happened. Judging by this thread, I bet it would be rather high due to supply and demand of available QB's that are available, but you have to take his age into consideration also. I think he will be available in 2011 as a FA but not next year via trade. Panthers sure have picked a bad year to be hunting for an available QB (if they indeed are) that is for sure.

They have great arms, Charlies' is good enough though.

With the drought of QB's out there, I can certainly see them asking a 3 or 4 for him. They don't need to trade him, and they aren't trying to build a roster, they just may want to get something for him before he just walks.

The idea is to sign a FREE AGENT talking about guys under contract makes no sense. We don't have the draft choices to throw at these guys. Kolb would be wonderful and probably the best of all of them. Philly is smart, they got this guy for a couple of years to be behind D. McNabb. I think when his time to renew his contract Philly will part ways with McNabb. Remember if they don't get the CBA done. The team rights to a player goes to SIX years.

Go Panthers

Its funny that in Philly fans have been calling for Mcnabb's head every once in a while since he has gotten there (not saying you are one of those fans). He is one of the most consistently great QB's in this league and yet philly fans want to replace him.

We had jake during that time and he is one of the most inconsistent QBs in the league and played absoulutlely terrible for 2/3 of the season and there where fans still supporting him. Mcnabb would have been the most beloved player to every play here if he played here his whole career. You guys are going to miss him when hes gone trust us.

If you had to take a guess what picks would they need to make this deal a done deal? 2nd or would it take a 1st or two. Me personally I would trade Pep straight up if we were to Franchise Tag him. If I was him I would love to play for you guys he would be unreal in that D. As would Mcnabb in our O.

Yeah, Schaub has the pedigree, but when it comes down to it, he's not an elite or even a really good QB. He's passable middling. Those you can find in many places, both in the draft and in free agency.

What you mean is... where can we find our next Delhomme? Now there was a guy that no one saw coming and talk about immediate results -- right to the Super Bowl. Two years running his receivers take first in the league for touchdowns, once winning the triple crown for receivers. Post season record of 5-3. Oh yeah, and he'll play for nothing for his first couple of years, just for the chance to come in off the bench.

Finding a guy like that is INFINITELY harder than finding a Matt Schaub. Off the top of my head, recent ones like that include Kurt Warner and Brett Favre, but danged few others. IF we could find one this offseason, we might be able to really do something with the personnel we have now. REALLY could do something great.

But we've got to find the same magic that we found when we first picked up Jake.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
