Calvin Johnson on the trading block?

Let’s end that buzz right now,” laughed offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, calling it “completely insane” and saying he “would be pretty depressed if that ever happened.”

“Yeah,” coach Jim Schwartz said, “we’re in the process of trying to acquire good players, not let good players leave. I think that if we’ve learned anything from history, it’s to value talent and not to discard it.”

Dang, he would really be nice to have.

If we got Calvin Johnson then the Panthers would probably resign Moose and keep him as our 3rd wide out which would leave us with an amazing receiving corp. Just imagine Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, Moose, and Dwayne Jarrett. Just thinking about it gives me chills.

Moose and DJ give you chills? Lay of the pipe, man.

That's wild the Lions are even talking about trading him though. I'm trying to think what they need most. I guess Defense. I can totally see some team giving up a #1 Pick and their star at some D position.

Too bad we can't do it.

Why would we want him here? Two #1 receivers on the same team never work. What we need is a great #2.

this in a way. I'd rather add a Welker, Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates/etc(yes I know they're te's)

Good news is Davone Bess, a Welker type receiver is entering free agency this year.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
