It must've had a lot to do with the weather/rain last week. The guy looked legit tonight. I've been touting Alex Smith or Campbell as options, although Smith is under contract through next year, but I've got to say, Moore has made me question as to how much we need to look outside...

The only thing I see he is lacking right now is consistently hitting receivers on the timing routes like Collinsworth mentioned... For example, last week against the Pats, he tried to throw to the flat to Smitty, but Smitty saw the DB crashing down and ran out to the corner straight up the field, he would've had a TD... Moore doesn't have the timing and chemistry with Smitty yet to know where he's gonna be on throws like that. But, given time, it will come.

I wasn't sure how legit Moore was as a long term option, but like I've always said, Jaworski said this kid was a steal and could be a legit starting QB when he came out - And I trust Jaws. The more time he's played, the more progress he's shown, and now I've got to believe that this guy has a chance of being our starter long-term.

I believed Moore was the best QB on the roster earlier in the year, even though I didn't know how viable he'd be come next year, I think he's starting to prove how viable he'll be.

You could *see* Moore's throws improving through the game. It was clear his accuracy was improving. His timing was still missing, but he started to trust receivers, and started to lead Smith (on that one beautiful freaking TD play, that was all trust that Smitty would come down with it...). Most of all, HE IS MOBILE.

My FAVORITE play (that didn't involve Smitty >.>) Moore made that game was scrambling out of the pocket on first down, gaining a yard and preventing a sack. So many QBs would have just been taken down, but he ducked and ran. It was nice to see.

Agree. It can save us the trouble of likely getting a QB in the Draft who could be a bust. We tend to have trouble getting a successful QB in the draft for years, even before Fox & Hurney came here. Plus, we don't have to pay a lot to keep Moore & make him the starter where we couldn't sign some good QBs that would've cost us too much to pay other good players on our team to stay. We seem to do better with picking undrafted QB like Jake & Moore than the Draft. Weird, huh?

I was trying to find the clip of Jaws talking about him during the draft... Can't find it, but I did find this, nice read:

Moore had been talked up as a possible late-round steal by various ESPN commentators. Ron Jaworski raved about him on Sunday. During an on-air discussions, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay were talking about who might be the next Tom Brady, and they both mentioned Moore.

"He got a lot of publicity for a guy who wasn't drafted," said Lynn Lashbrook, one of Moore's agents. Lashbrook is the president of Sports Management Worldwide in Portland. Matt is also being represented by family friend Joe Aloisi, the father of his best friend from Hart High, Matt Aloisi.

Lashbrook said Kansas City, Detroit, Carolina, and Cincinnati were also interested in bringing in Moore as a free agent.

Moore can't throw a ball 64 yards while kneeling down (did you see JaMarcus Russell in that clip on Saturday?) but he does have enough "intangibles'' to warrant a long look by the Cowboys.

OSU coach Mike Riley said last week it was a joke that Moore wasn't invited to the Combine. Riley also said that he firmly believes no quarterback in the country made as many clutch plays as Moore during OSU's remarkable 8 of 9 run in 2006.

Lashbrook thinks Moore will shock the world again, only this time in the NFL.

"He handled (not being drafted) well, like he's handled everything else,'' said Lashbrook. "His story is kind of an underdog story. He's always had to overcome a lot.''

It was my first proper chance to see Moore play today & I was impressed. Sure he is not the most complete QB going around but he got the chains moving albeit with a few errors but nonetheless he got the job done.

I like what I saw and I for one hope to see him start. He deserves that much after today.

      I'm probably one of those posters, but I make those posts because there are too many things going on that don't make sense. For instance, how does a RB that does something that hasn't been done in 14 years immediately get reverted back to 2nd string, and it takes a leadership council to make him the starter when he's averaging 3x the YPC? Your average fan shouldn't be screaming that for 2 weeks before the coach sees it. And that's one of many.  What you're seeing is frustration that we could be better, that we should be better, if our owner, FO, and coaches could do things that are so painfully obvious to even the most basic fan

      I think we're all struggling with what things are right now and what they have been. It's like getting ready to have bandages removed after a long period of injury. The healing, the new growth, they aren't going to be pretty, there's going to be some ongoing issues for a while at best and there's every chance that we're going to have to go back into the bandage situation all over again. And that sucks. But it's also a place where maybe, just maybe, the recovery is going to finally start happening. The bad days will be getting behind us.  It's not going to happen this year, but I believe from what I see that this year is showing that improvement. We focus on the QB because that's what all the pundits focus on, because it's the flashiest and most heralded position on the field. No one wants to put out a tweet about how a center is holding down their job and anchoring a line. They rarely celebrate that blocking tight end or special teams gunner. That fourth CB on the depth chart? Not a mention. And yet, those guys are the kind that we've been building here, we're building the lunch pail guys AND finding some future stars.  Is Bryce one of them? Might be a cornerstone of the team in the future as the second QB, might somehow just show out to end the season. Might flame out like many expect. But if that uncertainty is all we concentrate on, we're just going to miserably look at this team and maybe miss out on some solid green shoots that are finally beginning to poke through into the sunlight.
