Jeff Davidson + Legit NFL QB =

Zod

the most amazing thing to me is how they let Moore continue to throw regardless of a 3 possesion lead. You would NEVER see them do that with Jake. And yet, they say they still have confidence in Jake.

Jake Delhomme=Most expensive bench warmer of 2010.

2009 Panthers Season - Jake + Moore = Playoffs

Fox's decison making has cost us a playoff run. I say Fire Fox and give Davidson a chance at HC for a year.

I'm serious.

If Delhomme was under center we wouldn't have even tried 2 throw the ball after halftime...

I was wondering this myself... where has the conservative playcalling gone? We're up 24-0 and they're throwing the ball down the middle of the field. It's great, but what changed? I thought Fox had confidence in Jake... or was that just talk to keep from bashing him in the press?

My guess is that Fox and Davidson want to see what Moore can do, and maybe some of the others (Kenny Moore) as well. So they are continuing to call pass plays. Stewart might break a 1000 in this game as well.

Yeah, maybe that's it... they've just run the ball the last two drives and we've stuffed it down the Giant's throat...

I find myself wondering what the deal is with this team... does this group with a lot of backups gel better? Are these guys playing harder because they know it's their shot to be seen? Do we just match up well against the Vikings and Giants?

Or could it be that they're all excited that Jake is not playing QB???

I mean, Peppers was coming off the sideline giving high-fives to the offensive players... If he's done that in the past, I've never seen it...

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
