I was told by a good buddy who is an Eagles fan that Miles was nothing special and a product of that Eagles OL and that we'd quickly grow tired of watching him run into the backs of his OL when there's a hole to hit just a few feet away. I hoped it was sour grapes but it looks like he's right.

having that lack of burst or quick change of direction is Miles Sanders red flags not his vision or even his long speed

& if  you think that he was successful last year behind that Philly O-Line then yes you are absolutely correct because more than anything his ability to diagnose open holes & then turn on the speed but no way was his success last year in Philly due to this raw talent as a runningback...just saying my 2

His lack of vision is the big problem I've seen.

Chuba has stone hands, so him being in the game allows the defense to not pay attention to the RB on passing downs (or assume it's being handed off).

I understand folks want different results, but let's not forget the results Chuba has already (like a bunch of dropped passes).

The past is the past, but results matter.  Chuba's results this year have been different.  He's been targeted 10 times, with 9 catches and no drops with 4.7 yards per catch.  He's on pace to catch 50 balls this year.

I'm not saying he's 100% corrected his problem, but it seems clear he has been working on it with some success.

Icege basically proved my point. He said that Chuba had 7 drops his rookie year on 37 passes. Last year he had 1 drop on 17 passes. He's doing even better this year. The "stone hands" thing really no longer applies.

It still makes no sense why Chuba was catching screens instead of actually running the ball last week. His main strength is going north and south through a hole, not shaking a cb after catching a bubble screen

No argument there - I think Chuba should be getting a lot more touches just to see if he's "figured it out".  I was simply addressing the narrative that Chuba was still the same player he was when he came into the league.  Dropping FAR too many balls.  A Rhule draftee that got an inside track.  He's not that player any longer.

He looks like a very serviceable NFL back now in the limited opportunities he's gotten.  Maybe he reverts to type with more chances.  If so, fine, I'm happy to see him leave next offseason.  But maybe we uncover a guy who can really help us - a guy who won't break the bank.  We need all of those we can get!
